This goes along with the reason that people hide themselves during voting. If you give an honest comment on how much and why a picture doesn't cut it, or just sucks, you're likely to get flamed in a PM.

No disrespect intended, but I'm not buying that.

I'm not buying any either. This is a virtual deal. It's not like the offend person is coming to your house to kick yer arse. I don't think I've got a PM of that type yet, but I'm ready and willing to totally ignore such a PM.

oh yeah ?

The feud started when Anderson, who runs a haunted house near Waco, joined a picture-sharing Web site and posted his artwork and political views.

For me, it is not "fear" of a PM (in five years and thousands of comments, I think I have gotten one), but annoyance that when you leave a comment it immediately becomes potential fodder for a forum thread. NOTHING irks me more than to see a thread complaining about a comment received (not number of comments, but complaints about the actual comments). ugh.

No disrespect intended, but I'm not buying that.

For example, in the current Free Study I've dished out 80 comments, and not all of them have been 100% positive - I rec'd one PM questioning my comment. I responded, a couple PM's were exchanged, and all is fine. We still don't agree 100% but the exchange was handled in an adult and responsible manner.

One PM out of 80 comments, and that's the first time in a long time that's happened, and really, even if I rec'd a dozen PM's that were "flaming" I wouldn't care. What's it hurt? I have my opinion, they have theirs, no big deal.

What's to buy? Are you saying I'm lying?

Your good or passable experience does not negate others bad experiences. It's just different.

Open your mind a bit.
