if you pros have any words of wisdom, i'll have a little bit of a road trip... text me some words of encouragement. you all tend to help keep me sane when i doubt myself :D

i'll post some late tonight if i don't get home too late.

If you think that it is NOT you who is getting married, you will be alright. Tell the groom if in case he needs to SHOOT the bride (in coming times) he should watch you carefully how to do. Because he will only get one chance, missing that might make his life hell.

enjoy.

alright, thanks so much for the support while on the road :D

kari and taterbug, you made my day :D

now the pics. i'm going to post the ones i liked, and some i didn't, mainly for critique and so i can learn from my mistakes. immediately after the shoot, i noticed the ones that were shot from a pretty good ways off, the face was very soft, and i realized i still had my diffuser on my flash, and the fill flash was not reaching. i am still pretty newbie with my flash (which is a sigma 500 dg super), and am learning daily.

we did bridals first...here are a few from them. we didn't do as many as i would have liked, but of course i wasn't the one in the 50 pound dress in 85 degree weather, and humidity that was out of this world. here's a few :D

then, as the mother went in to talk business with the owners of the gardens, we were in the "bride's chambers" and went crazy in the bathtub...not really. completely innocent everyone. :P it was a blast, these girls were hilarious. used my flash bounced off the ceiling with my new portable softbox i bought on ebay :D

thanks so much for looking, and i am open to any critiques and comments any are willing to offer. i am here to grow, and get better. my skin's thick, and i take criticism constructively. :D

these aren't edited very much, just mainly levels / curves and white balance. did them on my laptop, so hopefully they turned out alright.

again, thanks so much everyone.

hope you enjoy

**edit to add equipment used for those of you interested...

oh yeah definitely. they were fun to work with. i immediately loosened up when i noticed she was somewhat stressed, so we laughed and joked and had a great time.

thanks so much for the compliments, i REALLY appreciate it!

Left bunches of comments.... ;-)

Tub5, which isn't in the tub at all, is my favorite. The composition, her smile, everything is unique and lovely. Of the bridals, I definitely prefer the very first one. That's the one that should be printed large. Of course, it's all up to her.

Bump for the next guy!

Overall pretty good, i left comments for a few tweaks.
consider getting a faster lens - the 70-200 2.8 or 85 1.8 or 50 1.4 (NOT the 1.8 please). You have a lot of DOF on these shots and some would look better with shallower DOF, throwing the BG out of focus. Also, a long lens compresses and that flatters the human form. A wide angle does just the opposite.

thanks everyone for the comments, i really appreciate it so much. after she had taken her dress off, i kicked myself for not shooting with any other lenses. i had my 350d with the 70-200 2.8 on it, but she was rushing so much so i stuck with the wider, which i regret now. i wish i would have at least tried a few with the 80 or 50, but can't go back now. i have a few more bridals coming up in the next few months, so i'll most definitely use these comments and suggestions for them, and progress further.

again, thanks so much. really helps out a LOT

Prof_Fate: as for your opinions on the 50 1.4 over the 1.8, why's that? i'm just curious. my 1.8 was dropped a while back and started having focus ring problems (sticking) and now seems to be fine, but i've thought about replacing it with either another 1.8 or go for the 1.4, but wondered how much of a difference it is between the two quality/sharpness wise

thanks so much, again
