I just spent a few minutes playing in the studio and came up with these two shots.
The first is a single light (AB800). I wanted to set it up so that the cup handle would reflect in the cup, creating an abstract heart. I also wanted the cup to contrast with the background (light cup-dark bkg, shadowed cup-light background). It took a few minutes of playing with the light, but I got it to work:


This second shot is a two light setup (AB400 with 10 degree grid to right of flower, AB800 with 20 Degree grid to camera right, low power).
The main light created highlights and deep shadows, giving the flower depth. The center of the flower was too dark, so I added the second light as a fill light.
