I haven't seen in Europe or Northern US states,so if I see a butterfly photo I assume represent summer!
I would rather see an insect to represent Summer instead of photographer suggesting me with the name of the photo!"(you know this is a guy sitting in the bar on Summer afternoon}"
Just an opinion!

Monarch Migration Info

Ladybird Johnson Butterfly Garden Info At the bottom of the page is a free booklet with seasons for various types of butterflies...

But, what about a photo of an outdoor scene where the only evidence of which season it might be is in the title. Does that meet the challenge? The photo might be great, but does it really represent a season?

I suggest this brief article on Monarch Butterfly behavior before making too many assumptions about what's possible, especially if you don't have definitive knowledge of where the photo was taken.
