I finally managed to edit and sort the photographs, i always wanted to make a COLLECTION of.

the shots in this collection were taken between 2004 and 2007 during my stays in iceland.

this book by Nökkvi Elíasson inspired me for doing so.

Comments on that (first) personal project over a longer period of time in the past as well as on the pictures themselves are always welcome.

and i'd be pretty interested about other photos of deserted and abandoned farms or houses around the world...

Stunning photographs! I salute you on your perseverance, 3 years is quite a long time to work on such a project.

Could you tell me in a few words what you do in PP to get such a dramatic image? I would love to be able to achieve a similar effect.

hehe, i was just waiting for that question to be asked...;)

well, in some shots like these three , , i did use 3 different exposures and combined them in photomatix to get the hdr, then converted to b&w in cs3 via mostly gradient map or channel mixer, together with seperate masks and curves adjustments for the sky and the foreground. same but without the hdr i did on the rest. not much dodging/burning needed. oh and of course a 50& gray layer on overlay for the non-destructive noise filter! ;)

I still have to learn how to bracket my shots on the camera yet. I also dont have a HDR programme but almost have CS3 up and running which I believe has HDR. Have marked this thread so I can have a look again later. Ta, Monique
