Can someone please tell me how to remove an image from a competition. I posted mine from a shot i took a few months ago - and only after viewing the other submissions (all summer shots) did I realise there must be a date line for it.
I really don't want to be labeled a cheat - just a stupid fool whom doesn't fill or read the submission forms properly.
I must point out that being a 'shots of the 4 seasons' doesn't give much chnace for anything else but summer considering there was a submission date. But that doesn't give me any excuse for my error.
I have informed the DPC staff, but they have yet to reply.

You can request a DQ for yourself - on valid grounds.
You won't be 'labelled' - no one knows about shots that get DQ'd other than the admins and council, and they're not going to say anything bout it.
At least you wouldn't if you hadn't posted this thread :-)

I really hope your excellent winning shot for desolation was also taken within the correct dates? |

I did exactly this on my first challenge. I just found this site, and entered something that was a week old, and had already posted on DPC. They responded to me (especially after a half dozen other people requested that it be DQ'd). I'm sure they'll get around to you.
by the way, there are/could be shots of other seasons, because we don't all live in the Northern Hemisphere :~)
AT this very minute, I am freezing.

Aren't the only two seasons at the moment, summer (northern) and winter (southern)? Or do parts of the world start spring and autumn early? |

I've just checked the EXIF data in the top 42 images in the Desolation challenge and they're all out of the date range - making me the new winner! ;P |

ROFLMAO! Good work, Jon. Mine was in the dates. Guess that means I'll actually be in the top 150 now. Wooohoooo!

North-central California (Bay Area) is well-known for having either no seasons or weird seasons ("The coldest Winter I ever spent was one Summer in San Francisco" -- Mark Twain). There's often fog in July and sweltering heat in October. I'd guess we have what you'd probably consider Spring- or Fall-like weather about 8-1/2 months a year. |

You did not have to shoot the current season. You could also make a scene or atmosphere which shows autumn (e.g. first yellow leaves) or spring (e.g. plant a seed and grow it within a week, then take a picture).

And she does. Waitaminute! Now THAT's a challenge topic. Nazgul's mom's bloomy breasts. I like it. Who is paying for all the airfare?

While, it is summer here I did think of ways to demonstrate other seasons here within the dates. I did not end up using those shots. Just a thought that you can shoot something that is not the current season, but give illusion that it is. |

Then perhaps a better title for this thread would be "Help I am a stupid fool whom doesn't fill or read the submission forms properly!" :P
You do realise that there is a submission date on EVERY challenge don't you?

Freezing is a relative term. Come to Ottawa in February.

For Naz, there are no seasons. The sun is as black as a starless night, the world is in necrosis - death is all around us and the end must surely come as swiftly as the raven sweeps to pluck out thine eyes. ;D

In Southern California, seasons means you would like some pepper...
What's winter?
