I was wondering, why aren't the photographers comment shown with the photos during voting? I think if the comment are shown, the voters would have a better knowledge of the background info on the photos which will might help the voter on judging the photo. Wouldn't you think so?

I would love to see photographer comments along with the photos, but this has been discussed a lot in the past. The consensus is that photographers would use the comments to 'pander' to the voter. The 'challenge' indicates that the photo should stand on its own without the help of an outside comment or 'explanation'.
When I wander through my local art gallery, however, I love reading the 'notes' that go along with the artwork. It often creates a context for me that I may not have found on my own...

Please don't get them started on this again - I would like to see the comments too but I can do without the heat this thread is likely to generate

I was just wondering, because when I go through the photos after the votings and reading some background info. I feel that I should have given a photo higher or even lower points.
Since this has been said and done before, then let's end it here.
heheheh save our selves some brain cells and lower some blood pressures.

I'm usually disappointed when I do that because the photos that I really like rarely have these comments to go along with them.. |
