I just saw an entry in the lucky 7 challenge. It was the one w/ all the dildos.
The comments on that photo were hysterical. People saying its inappropiate. Come on. They are plastic or rubber or glass whatever. Can't believe people think that is worse than a photo of actual nudity with real breasts.
This photo was not inapropriate. What is inapropriate is allowing kids on this site. 18 and over would be great. No one should have to explain to their 8 year old what they are because that kid shouldn't be on the site at all.
Photography is a wide world. There are so many subjects that can be photographed in amazing ways. Photography takes a bit of maturity as well as the ability to put personal tastes aside for the greater good of the art. If nudity bothers you, don't look and don't express your opinion because it is clouded by the fact you don't like nudity. If a piece of rubber made into a phallic form for the purpose of sexual gratification bothers you, don't look. Its a very easy concept.
Everyone who considers themselves a photographer is going to have a different view of the art. No 2 will see the world the same, especially from behind a lens. There should be 1 commonality to all of us. That is the ability to put our first emotional reaction aside and see the image for what it is. If we could do that, I think that eveyone would have a chance to come out of their comfort zone and photograph objects that they would never have dreamed of photographing which would in teh end help photography progress.

I'm gonna have to think about this idea for a while and get back to ya ;) I'm sorta glad that this isn't the logic used in most debates.

Unless you're a kid, apparently. |

I suppose that would be why parental consent is required, eh? ;-)

18+ would be great.
No emo, no cellphone pics, no emo, no worries about the FBI kicking your door in because some moron posted naked shots of his 15 year old girlfriend, no emo, no emo, no emo.
Any great artists lost in the process would simply return after some time even greater and more mature in their craft.
Make it so. |
