This is a lovely shot but it lacks clarity and luminance. I dropped it into CS2 and did the following:
1. dupe BG layer
2. Autolevels on the dupe layer
3. set layer mode to "soft light" on the dupe layer
4. Merge dupe layer into BG layer
5. Dupe BG layer again
6. "filters/other/high pass", set to .8 pixels, OK
7. set layer mode to "overlay"
8. save for web.

Same basic workflow as on the Lily variation i did a little earlier, plus some vignetting. make the image pop a little more, be a little more luminous.

| I am going to have to bow out early. I haven't posted the last few days because i was out hiking and slid 20 feet down the side of a mountain. I ended up with a wrist fracture and 47 stitches in my arm. I'm going to have a cast on for the next 8 to 12 weeks. Luckily, i had just put the camera down before falling, but unfortunately my backpack with the 50mm took a tumble too. Good thing the 50mm is inexpensive to replace. Its horrible because I just ordered the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro and now its going to have to sit for awhile. Time to catch up on comments with all these amazing images. |

Geez Dave - trying to compete with Ursula in this side challenge isn't worth getting yourself hurt for.
Want me to check out the 100mm for a while?

Just trying to challenge myself a little again.....F29, 2.5 seconds, and a tripod for the ordinary ol' hibiscus bush on the back porch. I guess it's been kind of a teaching tool this past few months.
