OK, so we had a kind of typhoon, followed by an earthquake but I'm OK, thanks for asking lol. Anyways, while trying to shoot for the natural light portrait, literally seconds into the shoot outside it started to rain. Not sure how wet cameras can get, but I'm pretty sensitive to my D80. Later that day when it stopped raining, we went back out and I think I got some nice shots.
HOWEVER, at night it was just pouring outside and I really wanted to get some pictures of people jumping and playing in the rain in the street. It was night, so I knew I had to use my flash. If it had been day time I would have first tried my 50mm and seen what kind of natural light would help. BUT at night, no chance.
With the exception of holding an umbrella over your camera (Rain coming from all directions sometimes, I got real protective and took of my shirt to cover it sometimes...not pretty), what are some other GOOD ways to take rain shots.
I'm not interested in encasing it in plastic boxes unless they are seriously portable and light. I've seen bag like cases, but not sure how good they are. If someone could throw some suggestions my way let me know please! |
