I ask myself that everyday. That's why I usually don't submit until there's 15 mins left. lol

After just reading the thread/article on "negative space" I just about unsubmitted my entry to that challenge. Man, sometimes reading is not very helpful. |

That's what happened to me, too. It's an interesting challenge, though.

It is, very. So, what was it in what you read that made you think of unsubmitting your entry? |

Sometimes it is better off to avoid those threads for that very reason. I really get upset when someone starts discussing an idea that I had too. Then it appears in the challenge that I got my idea from the thread. If it is frowned on for discussing a particular photo in the forum during voting shouldn't the discussing of specific ideas for an upcoming challenge also be treated the same way.
Some people just don't realize that they could be ruining something you alread worked on!

The article was very interesting and informative. No complaints at all. Just joking about that...
I just don't think my negative space is WOW enough. I wish that wasn't in the description. |

Interesting! I'm worried about the opposite, that my negative space might take away from the subject, and thus taken as not being a true "negative space", or, not plain enough. |

AHh, snap! After reading that thread on what negative space is, I looked at my submission, then at the thread, then my submission and decided that my image was a bit of a hit and miss affair and I would rather chicken out than have hundreds telling me my image is off topic... *chews her nails.* I'm such a yellow belly chicken.

If you're choosing to submit nothing that doesn't seem to make sense. It's good to get feedback. What's the worst that could happen?
I'd rather submit my best effort, even if it's not my best work than nothing at all.

Ya me too apparently.
Voters wouldn't know a halfway decent shot if it bit them in the ass.

Maybe we better move this to RANT!
Last challenge I started at 7+ after the first hour and dropped to 5.8. This challenge I'm at 4.5 after one hour. Oh, woe is me.
Some comments would be helpful. I wasn't too sure about this negative space thing, anyway. |

I withdrew my submission around 2 hours before deadline today after looking at it for 10 minutes or so. I just found it too unappealing to be included, and thought it wouldn't be worth the effort of others to comment on. (I mean, I can't even appreciate it myself, so why would I even subject people to that :).

Negative space is about shape, size or action. Not just a big background around a small object. If the half-retarded 5 second voter could get that, it would be great.
Talk about unsubmitting, already done that for "Past."

Perhaps if you now place that picture in your portfolio, people may comment on it as they wish, and maybe someone might thing it was a work of art!

Just followed your suggestion. It's in my portfolio for now (I still have 45% space left anyway). Comments are welcome - it's the beaker of water with a blue background with the title "the bends."
