I try to take pictures for challenges that I'd be prepared to hang on my wall, although I've not been too successful so far! I just wondered what kind of images from this site people would hang on their wall. I've selected a few of other people's work that I would definitely hang (and may buy prints of), as well as some of my own which I'd really appreciate some comments on (good or bad):

Others (only a selection of VERY many):

Good shots all, John. My favorite is your very own Follow Me.

It's interesting to see what folks would put on their walls. I like those shots, but I would put only a few of them on my wall. I can see Toasty in the kitchen, though. However, knowing that YOU would put them on your wall speaks of your personal (good) taste, and reminds us that the perception of art is different for everyone.

discarded crayons (mine)

leaf (mine)

plenty of others, I just never mark them.

Thanks for the comments David, and I'm priveleged that you like 'Follow Me'.

I like your two shots as well Tom - well worth hanging, particularly 'Discarded Crayons'. I'm intrigued that you would hang the portrait shot as, for me, they tend to be quite personal - but that is a beautifully shot image.

Thanks for including my Clouds shot in your list. I guess I better put some stuff on DPC Prints.

I would certainly hang Follow Me. It speaks of the wonderful carefreeness (is that a word) of childhood and makes me feel good.

I felt the same way about portraits being too personal. I guess I'd just feel funny hanging a portrait of someone I don't know. But Follow Me is more about childhood in general than the specific girl.

I have to agree with this one in particular:

Ironically, I was on the verge of trying to replicate this shot this morning on my way to work. My daughter's daycare is within walking distance of this bridge, and it was a good, foggy morning. I crossed the bridge and was going to try to take a similar shot, but the fog had lifted just enough that I was discouraged from attempting it (not to mention that it would have made me late to work).

I would especially hang this one

and I also love "Follow Me."

There are so many wonderful shots by so many people though. I would need huge walls to hang all the photos I would want from all of the talented photographers on this site.

Wow Jon...they're ALL good! I personally would put Lord Of The Rings in my son's bedroom, the Wanderer (I Love this one!) in my room, and Follow Me would go in my living room....for all to see! The Lord Of The Rings has got to be one of the best pictures I've ever seen, and would LOVE to buy a copy from you!!! :) Sincerely, Christy

Well, thanks Christy, that's really made my day! I'll sort something out.

The toaster was a technical marvel, but I wouldn't want to have to explain why I hung it up to my friends who would ask "Why do you have a picture of a toaster on your wall?"

I'd tell them: "Because I like it."!

True, but in my social circles, that girl with the big you know whats would be the one everyone would want to see, but as I am conservative, and I like my wife, you can't always do what your basic instinct tells you to.

I would hang this by David Sidwell - if it had been cropped like below.

It's weird, but for me that makes a difference - here's the original, which is still excellent but, in my view, just a little awkward for the rotation:

Wow, I'm first on a list of very prestigious photos and photographers. That's very flattering, to say the least. I knew the image ID looked familiar! That's quite a remarkable list and I'm very stunned to have made it frankly. It's quite an honor.

Thanks Jon for making my morning! - Bob
