For a long time, there were many days I could not answer the question "What am I interested in?" There were a few things that occupied my time but they didn't really cross my mind as interests. When I re-discovered photography with my Canon A60 it was a small time hobby and hardly the passion it has become now. When I decided to get into photography whole heartedly with the purchase of my Nikon D50 my life changed. Not only is photography an interest for me, it has become a passion. I've found that my life has become enriched because I see the world differently. Even when I don't have my camera with me I look at the colors, the light, textures, shadows and relationships of the things around me. Though my skills as a photographer have improved, the gift God has given me isn't the skills I have. It is this new vision and perspective into the everyday.
Yesterday, I was walking home and started shooting. I was in a bit of a funk and I really couldn't get a shot I was truly happy with. I switched lenses and that was when I saw a butterfly sitting on a leaf. Rarely do I ever get an opportunity to photograph butterflies as it seems I never have my camera when I see them. My fiancee Renae believes that butterflies are the souls of the people who have left this world who have returned to provide us with guidance. I would have to agree.
Other things were revealed to me one by one. A cobweb hanging in the trees. The fine veins of a backlit leaf. A beautiful blossom. A mother duck and her soft-downed babies.
As I finished my afternoon of shooting I realized something. Each day God gives us new gifts to find. Its up to us to find them.

That's an awesome feeling isn't it? I love when I'm out shooting and find something totally new or when I can capture something in the way I would think God would want it presented, sometimes I just stop and thank Him for the opportunity to show others the beauty that so many miss or just take for granted.
It kind of reminds me of why I love mornings so much and why I chose the title on this image.

God has given me World of Warcraft. I am not sure if it is a blessing or not.
Glad to hear that God is working in your photography. |

When I really starting getting into photography (after many years not doing much with my non-digital camera) I thought about this same thing. We see things differently. It reminds me of lucid dreaming.

So here they are...
No editing really. Just exported to JPG, zipped, uploaded and titled quickly.
