LOL (just kidding) But really! I wouldnt dare join a GREAT Website like this just to vote and leave crap on other submissions. Just my thoughts (Dont mind my spelling and grammer please). The Weaz

A discussion has come up about something related to this in the Story Behind my Photo thread. It's about voters with no cameras not really wanting to participate in the forums because bashing like this occurs. It's not their fault that they don't have a camera or time to submit. I think it's great that they are taking the time to vote on challenges that they haven't even submitted to because they are interested in photography. Their opinions are just as valid as any others. Of course, a few of them are friends just voting low, but I think their only a small percentage. |

Perhaps they had a different opinion, and didn't like your photo?

Aubrey - who cares what kind of comments you get? You only mark helpful the nice comments. I just looked thru your comments for who was really "mean" and didn't have a camera, but the only trend I found was that "nice photo, composition could have been better" is marked helpful when "composition could have been better" is not. What?

Oh stop that!
When you get low score and no comment ,complaint is "I want to know why I'm getting low score"
And when you get comment complaint is:"I don't need a comment from such person who know s*** about photography!"
You have to take critique ,if don't like it don't marked as helpful!

The comment was made for my Desolation photo. I dont see how you can read the comments that people have made for this submission yet. All the person wrote was Bad Photo.

Could almost have been one of mine since I have a reasonably nice camera (though actually the camera is a shared one bought mostly because my husband really wanted to use it more than I did) and I don't enter much and am leaving comments on my low scorers this time.
However, I'm not leaving such useless comments as "bad photo" but trying to say what I don't like.
And I did get a couple of great messages back, one from someone to whom I gave a 3 (which was in the comment) and who sent a sweet note to me back.
I find it very amusing when people who score badly demand comments to let them know what those low voters were thinking and then get very upset when they are left comments that let them know what some of them were thinking. Some people simply can't articulate what they think very well and at least are trying to leave a comment.
I also find it a shame that only comments saying nice things are marked helpful.
I find many negative comments are also helpful because, even if I don't agree with them, they do give me an insight into how others have perceived my entry.
Shrug...
