they both seem a bit harshly lit. Maybe try doing a couple of different curves on them and masking off to get the right exposure for each part of the image. I like the composition on both of the shots though.

Ehhh, more likely just hopped up processing trying to make more "pop". Will turn that down a bit though. Thanks.

You can try eating them jalapenos, then put the camera on self timer.

much better! It still seems a little bright to me but def better than the first version. Maybe try burning the leaves a little bit to give the image some different tones.
