Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D

I'd like to see an option in a users profile to leave/receive reviews. Like the comment box but for the overall ability of the user. I've wanted to commend/criticize many photographers but don't have the appropriate place to do so.

I'm guessing the best place for overall reviews would just be to leave the person a private message.

Yes, that's a fine and dandy and I usually do that but I mean for public view.

There are people who profile their fav photographers in the forums... That is a good place for appreciating the work of an individual

Uh... Nooo, you miss quoted there, buddy. I said "I've wanted to commend/criticize many photographers". Excuse me, It should read;
"I've wanted to commend/criticize many photographers body of work or style".

Not wise? I would hope that most people here could handle rational criticism and/or a brief praise of how they've gotten better at their submissions.

i think praise/criticism can be placed in whatever image that you found has improved, etc. if we have another place to comment, we'll have another forum where people will be upset they aren't getting enough praise/criticism. :o)

Kali: please, tell me what you think about my body of work and style, no holds barred. Honest feedback in important to me as well as to those of us on the site that take what we do seriously. If you have anything you want to comment about regarding my work or anyone elses don't be shy and just go ahead and do it. I think the forums are a good place to do it in if it is positive. If it is negative and you can phrase it in the way of an educational conversation it would also be appropriate for the forums. If it's purely negative, posting it in the forums may be a bit rude and a PM might be better but I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as you are criticizing the work and not the person, although these things can certainly sometimes go together and it is your right to state your opinions just as it is the right of the person you are criticizing to do so. Carry on!

As requested... Although, I would like it to be in your profile so it doesn't get lost here in the forums I will give you my opinion of your work.
Your first submissions were very stark and almost flat, they didn't really do anything for me emotionally or artistically speaking. I don't really see a dramatic turning point where there was much improvement. I would say that it's been a gradual overall improvement in the quality/clarity and creativity of your shots. I think you have a knack for landscapes and wildlife.
BTW, I love your â��Symmetryâ�� entry.

i think this is a good idea. i think if there was an entry box for people to leave comments on others' profiles the way they do on pictures, it could be pretty interesting.. i bet it wouldnt be hard to implement.
