Deb, is this the one you were referring to in this post?

RobH - I'm reading a hilarious book in which I think you are the lead character. I'll post the title and author when I get back to where I have the book. Your comments about the instructions reminded me of the guy.

I've bookmarked it, and once I'm done with Bill Bryson's "History of Everything" (which has been next to my bed for near a year now) I'll order it (and put it next to my bed for a year). ;)

Best,

RobH

Yes, that's the one. :-) But do break away from the other book, get this one, and I guarantee it won't sit for a year.

Deb,

I'm guessing you haven't read Bryson; if you had, you would know his stuff shouldn't sit for a year, either (I highly recommend "A Walk in the Woods" as a starter). It's the difficulty of working on the project I'm working on, where I read all the time (stuff I love, but not "fun" stuff; stuff like this: The Wealth of Networks). When I'm done reading and writing for the day, I'm picking up my camera, not reading another book :) Once my current project is done, things should settle down again a bit and hopefully I can read simply to enjoy reading.

How're your ribs holding up?

Best,

Rob

The rib (I think it's just the one) is getting a bit better, but lugging luggage through trains and stations all day (more than expected due to a morning strike by the DB folks) kinda made it hurt a bit more again. Still, I think it's getting better!

By the way, for those interested, I'm sticking stuff from the European get-together in a folder in my portfolio.

Your shots of the GTG are AMAZING. What a worthwhile trip that was. Never mind the sore rib, it will be better before long, and the photos will last a lifetime.

Thought I would share this great photo of the lovely juliboc & her beautiful husband, Larry (on the right with the long blond hair). This was taken when I got to meet them in Frankenmuth, MI. :)

Terry, this is fun, thank you for sharing it with us. Larry loves it. My photos didn't come out very well. I was having too much fun visiting with you, Tina, and Bob to pay very close attention to what I was doing. A couple of shots of Leila in the covered bridge came out well though, so I'll post them when I have finished working on the difficult challenges for this week.

Am I the only TSer who sucked in SciFi? :) Congrats to those who did so well, it's nice to see suckers on the front lines.

Congrats, too, to Barbara, it's always great to be recognized by someone you respect!

Best,

Rob

Woot - huge congrats to Bobbie Wildcard on her great Sci-fi entry! What a creative idea and wonderful execution, too!

And my congrats to Team Suck's own "sleeper" DPL team, the Out of Focusers! Not only did they make it to the playoffs, they blew their seed average right out of the water. Here's to going all the way, Focusers!

Hi all

Nope haven't fallen off the face of the earth, just been busy and had long Canada Day weekend. Just entered Dichotomy with a pic that may not be a true dichotomy, but I think it is...so there! :-)

Hopelessly behind on the thread etc so must catch up...and start trying to remember dreams and/or nightmares...too bad it's only Basic.

A wonderful man by the name of Norbert Poll took my photo a couple of weeks ago, he's been a photog for 40 years, used to teach etc. So I've put his pic up on my page, should I use it for new profile pic?

I vote yes. It looks good!

Thanks Don! btw he told me to 'look serious'. So I guess that's what I look like when I'm being serious, lol! Must try to get Norbert to join dpc. He also used to do stock photography, says some of his images are on the opening sequence for Windows...don't remember which version though.

Yes, it looks like your future book cover.

eek!

All too quickly the dreaded red writing has appeared, fortelling the way of the future, in that my membership shall soon expire!

Who would have expected a year to go by so quickly? It only seems like yesterday that I joined!

We're back from our camping trip. I haven't even looked at the photos I took yet, but I'll guarantee that they are all of the family snapshot variety.

If anyone could spare a moment, could you take a peek at my Solo entry - I finished with nary a comment at all.
