I took a lot at 10 seconds as well - mostly because there were so many going off at once, I wanted to get multiple bursts. In that case, I put the apeture down to 22 to let in less light.

i don't think we had a fourth challenge because this is an international website, and i think that only America celebrates the fourth as independence day...i think...

Probably because people complained here which led to this.

I think you mean we didnt have one this year because of the 2 posts you referenced. People whine and complain when Everything on this site doesnt cater directly to them

(this is just a joke, I figured with all the whining about the original challenge, someone had to whine about this one. Maybe I can get it changed back! :-))

Just kidding -- I know your post was a joke at the time. I just thought it was funny.

From last year:

figured they would be the same again this year,

I like the cropping on picture one better than 2 but that's just me. I never thought of getting a bit of the audience illuminated, kind of neat.

bummer on the rainout undieyatch, it took me a minute to understand why you posted that image lol...I'm slow.

Mine for the 4th. Square crop for the 50 in my life. This one was a six second exposure.

Tnx cpanaioti for catching my coding error.

Never done this before. It was fun, but I never quite figured out how to controll things.

Fireworks started very early, sky was still light, but there was a perfect cloud for backdrop.

WHooo! I captured my first firework! :)

I was really bummed out though because our view had powerlines! We got there right as they were starting, so I shot what I could. This ended up being my fave, after cropping out the power lines.

I wonder if I should have sharpened it more? I'm never can tell what is "enough" sharpening. Hmmm....

Here's one of mine. I used two photos for this. Now I need to go back and read how you guys captured the beautiful colors in the fireworks!
