My daughter came from Cozumel. Think '93/94 winter....we were there from the 17th to the 24th of March and our daughter was born December 28th, '94.

Funny.....she doesn't LOOK Mexican!

Mexican or not (grin) Jeb's daughter Eleanor is one GORGEOUS young woman. She came to the DC GTG with Jeb and his lovely wife, Lisa. As I'm sure you all can imagine, Jeb kept us in stitches with his often irreverent and always funny comments. I PM'd Eleanor to welcome her to DPC - and am looking forward to seeing her upcoming photos!

Every once in awhile I'll think to myself - I'm paying for this?
07/02/2007 01:29:32 PM · #1629
150 for me. And it's only $25 a year. Not even enough for a week's worth of Starbucks, right? Besides, what else would we do for torture and pain at that cheap a price? :-)

22 challenges for me (first challenge end of December 2007).

Looks like we're in all the same challenges, Jayson, and we're 2-2 :)

Curious what U.S. Team Suck members are doing for the 4th?
I think I am going to brave the horrendous crowds at GasWorks in Seattle to see if I can get some fireworks.

For all of you Detroit Tiger fans, here is a shot of the old Tiger Stadium that is soon to be demolished. We went to a Tiger game at Comerica park yesterday and I had to stop and take some shots of the old park.

That is my son and daughter walking across the street.

I'm going to miss it.

It was really nice meeting JuliBoc and hipychik today.

We did get to visit Frankenmuth for a short time and take some shots. Too bad we didn't have more time.

Julianne is on her way to the UP so I expect to see some beautiful shots from yooper land.

I'm going to North Avenue beach to try to get fireworks pictures over the downtown Chicago skyline, and maybe get some shots of "random" fireworks from my balcony later. I wonder if we'll get a speed challenge like last year.

We're going to a swim club to celebrate my son's 8th birthday (his is the 3rd), from there to my grandmother's to celebrate her 84th birthday (hers is the 4th), from there to Cooper River (NJ) to see a free concert by Kansas and then fireworks over the river. We missed the Penn's Landing (Philadelphia) fireworks this year (it was Saturday, when I thought it was Sunday). Hall & Oats is doing the free Philadelphia concert this year with fireworks over the Art Museum but we just have too much going on to brave those crowds that late.

This year our street is being closed for a block party. We live near the Art Museum in Philadelphia so we may walk down to the parkway to see the fireworks. You do have to be brave to go down into the crowds here.

I'm going to go out on my front step and read the Constitution in hopes that some boy scouts gather round. My favorite part is the Traditional Marriage Amendment.

That's funny, that's what James Earl Jones is going to do too! I hear he's going to use his Darth Vader voice.

My Darth Vader voice is much better, but I save that for Flag Day.

I didn't know we had a constitution anymore. I thought Bush and Cheney did away with it. Hope you don't get caught with a contraband copy.

Yes, I'm back online at my destination in the deep woods of the Michigan U.P. My techie neighbor has a huge satellite dish. I hated it until I found out I could get the Internet from it.

I had a GREAT time with Hipychik and Bmartuch this morning. What fun it was to meet them face to face. Terry also brought her little granddaughter, Leila, and her friend, Tina, who were so sweet and nice. I wish we could have stayed longer, there was so much more Bob could have shown us in Frankenmuth.

Now I have to go see what goodies (or not) I got with my camera today.

Kansas?? Believe it or not, in an age long before the dinosaurs disappeared (or so it seems) I not only went to a Kansas concert, I took a film camera and shot the thing for our high school yearbook. All of my film stuff is long gone (stolen, negatives and all) but I think I probably still have the yearbook in storage somewhere. I'm quite envious, Kelli! Have a blast!

As for the 4th of July here, I do believe they do fireworks at some of the bases, but I think I'll pass. Need to get the house ready to be left by itself for awhile, get some packing done, spend some time with the kitties, and sadly, buy a new laptop. This trip has taught me a lot of things, not the least of which is that this poor little thing cannot handle CS3 with any grace whatsoever.

And I'd listen to James Earl Jones read just about anything.
