So here is the story:
Yesterday my boyfriend and I were driving when he looked over at me and said "What the heck is on your face?!" and we didn't know but thought I maybe fell asleep on something so that was the end of that.
Then today my boyfriend looked over at me and said "Kate! It's still there! That thing! It's darker!".

And now I think I have ringworm or something. I basically want to cut off my head I'm so disgusted. UGH!

Here it is in context to size and my face.

Here it is cropped in.

Is it worms?!?!

EDIT: WHY DON'T MY PICTURES WORK!?!

EDIT AGAIN: Now there is a lot of my face going on. Thanks...I guess it's been quite a while since I've posted a picture around here...:)

It doesn't look like ringworm to me. Ringworm is normally a red round raised ring, which gets bigger the longer you do nothing about it. If it was ringworm, the quicker you do something about it the better. It si also highly contageous. It looks more like a burn or scratch.

I'd see a doctor. It might be pityriasis. It usually found on the trunk of your body however. Hence the visit to doctor. If it is pityriasis, it will go away on its own and its not contagious.

Well in either ways, I would go check at the doc's office.. you never know!

Kath...

I think you might have ringworm, but I am not sure. Not in the medical field in any reasonable or factual way. Never got such a good look at it before...since all I ever was able to do before was look in the mirror.

It is a medicinal cure if it is... topical ointment and it'll go away. Just talk to your doctor, or pharmacist or a friendly nurse in your neighborhood.

Easily spread however so...

Good luck!!!

I quick search through google didn't give me any clues to help out. Best see a doc.

Now here's a name I've not heard in a long time.....

I'm no doctor but that doesn't look like ring worm to me Katherine, looks more like a heat blister or a rash of some kind, I'd be sure to have it checked out if it's not showing signs of improvement in the next couple of days.

Nice to hear and see that you're still around, hope you get feeling better!

BTW - Ringworm is not really a worm but a type of infectious skin rash.

SHE HAS COOTIES!!!!! Ditto. doesn't look like any ringworm I've ever seen. Besides Ringworm really isn't a worm anyway. It's just a skin fungus like jock itch, athletes foot and such.

Yup and those same meds will treat it. Even Vagisil will treat ringworm.

I'm pretty glad to hear ringworm isn't a worm. I'm clueless when it comes to sicknesses because I hate going to doctors. I'm kind of one of those rather be healed by nature girls.

But this is my face, people. If my mug gets any uglier I might have to wear a paperbag over my head... ;)

BS!

Anyway... if it is ringworm it can be treated OTC, just try not to touch it much with your hands, because you'll end up with it all over you. If you have a cat, they are a likely source of ringworm and you should also check/treat him/her.

No cat or other animals. I wish I had one, but don't have time to give it proper attention.

Maybe I'll go to the store to find a creme and if it doesn't go away then I'll go to a doctor.

Think I can get out of work tomorrow? I work in a very contacty/close quarters environment and I wouldn't be suprised if I got it there. I have a lot of stuff to catch up on with my photography....do you think it's a good enough reason ;)

Any reason is a good reason not to go to work.

Hi Nightshy,

You don't have ringworm or any other worm, that is eczema. Loos like it could be something like nummular dermatitis in fact. I get this all the time in the winter, but usually just a small patch on the back of my knee or shoulder. It's nothing to worry about, but if left untreated once the rash clears up it will leave a small white mark that won't tan for several weeks.

No big deal, seriously. If you drink a lot of coffee or are under a lot of stress -- that can aggravate it as well.

The trick is to keep the area moisturized, preferably with something like HyroCortisone 10 or lanolin -- which you can get in the drugstore until you can get to a dermatologist for something stronger.

It will take awhile, but it WILL go away on it's own even if you do nothing.

Also, don't be surprised if something shows up on the other side of your nose, as sometimes this will come in symmetrical places on the body.

Not to worry, it's simply related to having allergies and a family history of eczema. :)

It looks like a burn to me but GO SEE A DOCTOR, SHEESH! He or she can best decide what it is and the best medication for it.

Doctors can't always decide best what it is. They just have a more educated opinion. I started getting these rashes on my arms from I don't know what when I showed up at my job in the mornings. Went to the emergency room and they didn't have any idea what it was. Gave me some allergy stuff. It went away by itself anyway I just wanted to know what it was. Wasn't a specialist skin doctor but still they could have known something more.

See a doctor and find out what they think, then if you want take the advice but don't just take the pill cause they say take this pill.

I think the most logical explanation is that you were abducted by aliens and underwent various anal probing tests then they branded you with that symbol.
