For some reason today my D200 has simply greyed out the mirror lock-up option... I've tried replacing the battery and all, nothing has helped... any suggestions?

You aren't trying to use mirror-lockup at the same time as the self-timer, are you? You can't do that.

It actually won't work with any kind of shutter delay. Make sure that your shutter delay is set to "off" and then try it again?

Yep, that's off... I'm confused... I just want to clean my sensor :(

Do you have an IR remote shutter release?
If so, set exposure to bulb and hit the remove shutter once - it will open. When you are done cleaning, hit the remote shutter release again - it will close.

Thanks for the tip... I'd still like to have the option enabled again in the menus tho...

In my D70 there is a menu item that lets me go from a "simple" menu to a more "involved" menu. Do you have that choice? Is anything else greayed out?

It will automatically grey out if your batteries are not fully charged. I'm assuming when you changed your batteries, the new battery had a full charge?

You may want to check the charge.

I'd never realized that before, just tried it, you're right! Full battery, the option is on; low battery, it's greyed out. Cool!

Nice little protection feature.
