wow thats weird, not to sound like i know anything about this, but where the cards used? May have some file on them, idk. Ill look into this a bit and see if i can find anything but i doubt it, it sounds likea pretty weird problem lol.

edit: if you got them on Ebay they might be cheap knockoffs relabeled as sandisc. Happens alot.

I can't believe plugging in your card reboots your system.

Do other cards do the same thing? If so,, might be a problem with your card reader and your system trying to read it.

If not, try formatting the new card in your camera.

edit: changed my logic around to be correct.

im thinking the problem can be the card reader. it must be... if is not, dont know what to do. i can read the jpg files conecting my camara to the usb port. so i think the card works ok what do you think?

I'd bet on some funniness between the card and the card reader. Just to check, you *are* sure that the card is genuine, right? Possibly more than 90% of the Sandisk cards sold on ebay are *not* genuine.

I would be careful then, you don't know what is loaded on that card. virus, trojan horse, anything...

I wouldn't plug that into your machine again

Contact the seller and demand a refund. Even the sellers of fake cards usually comply, because they don't want to be blacklisted. What *I* would do is demand the refund, then after refund is received, report them. These people are warts on the butt of humanity.

Even though the card may be fake, check your hard drive for remaining free space. If it's close to full that may be part of the problem. Plugging a CF card into the reader should not boot the machine. That's very weird.

The problem with rushing to judgement is that the seller may be unaware that their merchandise is fake, so taking out your aggressions on them may not be as justified as you would think. I'd be more inclined to judge them based on their actions after being informed that their merchandise is fake. It's the people that are actively counterfeiting that are the real warts on the butt of humanity.

Unless the seller is a private party reselling a 1-off item (that is almost never the case with the counterfeit cards) they are *well* aware of what they are doing. They do *try* to claim that they themselves were duped, but, color me skeptical, I do not believe them, not for a microsecond. They bought a batch of cards to resell. Where did they buy these cards, and what did they pay? I guarantee that, to sell them for the prices that they do, and make a profit, they have to be buying well below normal wholesale. They *are* aware of what they are doing.

What's a 2GB card cost these days? like 25 bucks?

Keep that in perspective when you go postal...

Is it really worth it to buy fakeware? Why not just buy at a brick and mortar? It will be a lot easier to get your money back if there are problems... and flash cards are quite stable if you get good ones, but get a bad one.....
