I just bought the Olympus Evolt E330 and have read all the wonderful reviews on it, and it's my first DSLR!! It's a dream I finally conquered!! Anyway, I already know how to use the camera after reading and watching everything about it. But what I want to know is from other users of the camera. What are your pros and cons with it, and your ultimate opinion. Have you other DSLR's that you liked better and why? What are your thoughts on this camera? Are there any tricks about the camera or something I might not catch on to being it's my first DSLR?

Thanks ahead of time for your replies!

Elizabeth,
There are only 14 DPC members with your camera which is not a whole lot. Most here shoot with Canon or Nikon, probably great than 95%. I don't own your camera either but do shoot with Olympus and would happy to help you with general questions. If you want more detailed information and help with the E-330, I urge you to visit the Olympus SLR forum at DPReview.com. Many people there own your camera and would be very happy to help you with any questions you have. I know that many have spoken in glowing terms of the E-330.

Other 4/3rds websites to visit would be:

Elizabeth,

Congratulations on your purchase, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I also don't have that camera but love the 3 olys I have had. The only thing I really worry about is the amount of noise above 400 ISO. I don't use it that much but when trying to do infrared or long exposures it totally kicks my butt.

Hi Elizabeth, I am also still learning how to use my DSLR. I don't know enough to tell you any ups and downs but I am enjoying it.
BTW....thank you for the great comment on my "Pure" entry!

I shoot an E300 and often wonder what the major differences in the bodies are.

Some of the difficulties I have had are with noise on my system even at ISO400. It may be me underexposing the image. Also, with camera shake.
Both I'm sure is user problems. ;)

One of the things that I have found that are essential to understand is shooting both manual and raw. The sooner you get the hang of those, the better off you will be.

I have had my DSLR for almost 2 yrs and I am still learning it.
Congrats on the new system!

Less megapixels on the sensor (7.5 vs 8.0), live view, and various other standard software upgrades.
