Cheers to pcody!

And congrats to you Alley Cat!

I put you in my faves and then couldn't find you again. Glad to see you return as a member. Love your style and can't wait to see what you do next.

Hey all.....got busy and couldn't post last night. I think I just figured out that I seem to be a window freak. Here's one from yesterday that I didn't get to post 'cause I was too beat and nervous about taking my bad-boy points violation exam this morning...I passed, everybody be afraid.

And this was on the way home today......I'm usually not this lucky and it's grainy, but it's summer and this is normal here if not totally ordinary. It's funny but I was at a park where the visibility was spectacular and I hung out for about ten minutes taking shots and this was one of only two I got with lightning. It started to rain, so I packed up and left.....as I turned out of the parking lot, this wildly long, wide, and bright bolt literally split the sky in half! Ain't that always the way??????

Day 6

I really did take this on the 6th day, but due to work constraints I've been too busy to even post this one. I'm still deciding between 2 different photos from yesterday, and I haven't even begun to look thru today's images yet.

Next week should return to normal. I'm also trying to catch-up on my comments. Give me a couple of days!
:)

Rob and all, just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying this daily challenge -- it *is* a challenge, but it's freeing compared to the paralysis and pressure I feel when faced with one of the regular DPC challenges. Thanks everyone for your great comments.

Jeanne, I didn't get around to saying it before, but I'm sorry to hear about your accident and glad to learn you are back on your feet.

Today I'll be out and about, but I'll try to post something tonight and leave some more comments.

OK, I've shot a lot of the implements needed for quilting. Today we see the latest finished quilt.

Sorry. It's a flower. I bought a new book and was trying out some ideas, so today I uploaded three versions of the same picture. The comp is weak, but I was working on trying to give depth to it. Can you tell me how you move around the photos when you look? Thanks. You are also welcome to edit the original.

Pat, that's a beautiful peony.
My eye is first drawn to the flower and is a little distracted by the bright leaves at left. Eventually the leaves at upper right serve as arrows to point my eye out of the image. My thoughts were to try to place the flower in the lower third, using the bottom highlighted leaf to point into the image, then take a diagonal trip up through the leaves and return to the flower for another trip. The goal in my edit was to eliminate, by darkening, all of the peripheral elements that served to take the eye out of the compositon. Sorry so wordy. Hope it makes sense.

Edit: The more I look at my edit, the less I like it. I'm going to take it down and play with it more. It's hard to do what I imagine with my crappy PS skills.

Day 8 - Things are Lookin' Up

It was late last night and I wanted to get something in. After outtakes of dinner leftovers (looked better served at the restaurant) and my wife's foot (as close to nude photography as I'll ever get), resorted to "just shoot the cute cat".
