There are loads that I admire, and am grateful to. Top of this list (and I'm surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet) is Bear_Music for his friendly, balanced and insightful perspective on every subject under the sun. How does one person accumulate so much wisdom? He is always open, always friendly, and always generous with his knowledge. Ladies and Gentlemen, please raise a toast to our esteemed, elder member - Bear_Music |

There are a lot I could mention but one person that immediately comes to mind is Jeffrey, levyj413. I got to know him a bit in the 30 day "Where You Live" side challenge. He lives near Washington, DC and I visited there last November, so his photos brought back a lot of memories for me. Not to mention he takes great photos! He made some very nice comments on my photos in that challenge, even coming back to comment on some after he got back from vacation. He also seems like a very nice family guy, and he makes sensible forum posts.

didn't there used to be someone here called "rosey" or something?
I can't seem to find her profile!
she was so warm and personable and friendly and always took criticism so well and was very kind and forth coming in her comments. |

There're so many wonderful photographers often not recognised with challenge's awards but as I can read here well appreciated. |
Of course you can!! There is already one out there!! Check out this thread and spread the love :) |

One of the photographers I look up to on this site is kirbic. His photos have interesting compositions. The color, sharpness, and intensity are always dead on and when I look at his photos they tell me a story.
On top of this he has been very helpful as a Site Council in answering my questions fast., even when it̢۪s a really dumb question. His advice always leads in the right direction.

One person I really admire on this site is MK. She has a personality like no other, and although she is feared by many (and probably should be), there is a softer side to her which is apparant if you look through her portfolio. Take a look at her beautiful black and white photos. Even the most mundane of subjects scream with life.
Mysterious in many ways, and although I haven't seen a photo of her (besides her "pouty little girl" photo she had as her profile pic a while back), her persona paints a lovely picture. She is always there to help somebody out, but quick to put somebody in their place if they get out of hand in the forums. She has helped me out personally on quite a few occasions, and I've seen her share her vast knowledge and expertise to others on many occasions. We are very lucky to have her on the site council. |

Wow, thanks, Karen!
I think it says something about everyone who's been mentioned that I not only know their names, I could probably tell you at least one thing about them.
I'll offer up Jutilda. Judy is just so full of life, knows how to laugh at herself, and offers both helpful criticism and nice cheerleading. I got to know her during the self-portrait project last September, and have enjoyed watching her portfolio grow ever since.
To get a quick glimpse of Judy's personality, look at this:
But to get a fuller sense of her love of life, check out her self-portrait collection.

I would have to say... I have 2 right now, Melethia has always been wonderful with her comments, she is helpful and tells it like it is, whitout ever being degrading..always being encouraging!!
and hywind has taken the time to teach me about not only the settings on my camera (so I can take better pictures) and levels, color adjustments, and sharpening!!
Thats just 2, but there are soooooooo many here who help me, and sooooooo many that are so fun!!
Thanks you all!!

So many of you guys have been very helpful to me direct and indirect via comments, replies in the forums and advice given to others which in many cases saved me the trouble of even having to ask my questions.
I wouldn't pick just one. So I can't play. I just renewed my membership for another year so you can all continue to school me and guide me to my first ribbon. Then I am going to work for Play Boy!. lol

Joey Lawrence
I only know what I learned from him. I am working on a bronze statue of him to put up in my office...(well, not really)
This was the first image that I saw from him in the first hour of being on the site. I had one of those breathless moments, and I knew that this was the style of photography for me. The visuals were stunning, the colors bold and it seemed to be another world. I immediately got a membership, read the thread about his DVD, bought it, and now I am having more fun than I have had with a hobby in a long time.
I am glad that he isn't this guy though.
The Joey Lawrence from Blosom

posthumous, for leaving a single comment on someone else's photo which gave me access to whole new dimensions of beauty and meaning. And for carrying on to inspire me ever since :)

To Don and Sierra, I really don't know what to say except thank you very much! I'm really very touched (and not just in the head.)
There are LOTS of folks here who make my little virtual world a good place to be. Big props to Team SuckTeam and its very wonderful sense of community and support. No one there sucks, by the way, and I very much cherish the friendships and comraderie. So a nod back at Don for starting the whole Team Suck thing in the first place. And a nod to SandyP, who befriended me once I started actively participating here - she's just as nice and sweet in person as she seems, too.
Gotta lend a shout out to Timfythetoo. I first met Tim when I started the Middling Masses Massacre - should have known when he had a 6.5+ and a top ten in his third challenge that he was trouble... But he's a wonderful chat companion and puts up with my moaning and griping about "how come I can't score?" - a lot. He encourages me to shoot what I like despite that. He's got an amazing imagination and the ability to channel that into a shot that pays. And he's got two of the cutest kids on the planet. His best asset, though, is his much better half - Aimeethetoo. |

I would mention easily a dozen people if that were the game. The talent and kindness here is almost endless, IMO. But fotomann_forever has really helped me out on a couple of occassions. When I had questions about a lighting system, he took the time to walk me through it--helping me find the right equipment and answering (patiently) all of my assinine questions about it. And I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase! I've seen him help out a number of other people throughout the site as well, on a variety of topics. And, I have to admit, his sense of humor usually has me rolling! |

I am a geek/nerd by nature and hobbies. I dated engineers in college (though married a businessman). I work with small children who flood me in bodily fluids too numerous to mention. And my friends are pretty odd......
.....very little creeps me out anymore :-) Spiders....spiders still creep me out! |

What a great idea. Thanks, Jeff for listing me!!
I have two people that come to mind immediately goodman and sjcarter who have been both friends and mentors on so many levels. They both offer such a unique perspective. Jimmy's nature images are breathtaking and Les has a fun quirky way of looking at life. Her portraits delve into the depths of people's souls. I have many others I admire and whose work I love, but those two are definitely top on my list.
But I have to say that SandyP has to be the most sincere member DPC has. She can find something kind and complimentary to say and it can be very encouraging when you are being showered with low scores on a challenge!! Her kindness exudes through her images as well.

I've got to bring up Sherpet in this thread. Not only is her work gorgeous and inspiring, but she is just an incredible person. She leaves so many wonderful comments, and is positive about everyone. I admire her tremendously, especially her tenacity and upbeat spirit that continues despite ongoing medical issues. Yay for Sherpet! |

I call out Art Roflmao, particularly for his Woody Portfolio. His setups are creative, and his post processing is amazing. He led a Photoshop basics class for slackers like me, which helped a great deal with my own work.
