Hey Griz...We got a new puppy too. Well I guess she's about a year old. We saved her from the dog pound. She's very sweet. As you can see from this photo, she likes to smile when the camera is aimed at her!

Awwwww....cutesy-wootesy puppy-wuppy pictures...even a cat fanatic like me can't resist a cute doggy (so long as they don't bark or jump on you)
Very lovely dogs all!
Oh yeah will post pics of new hair on portfolio page once I get em resized and uploaded...as close to sftc as possible...
plan to do double-take, I know precisely what I wnt to shoot but logistics could be tricky.
Off to vote! |

Hey, I'm celebrating today. My overall average has climbed above 5.5 for the first time ever, thanks to what I'm still hoping will my new personal best in Shapes! :)

Congrats on the average :) And I look forward to seeing your Shapes entry!
Btw, just noticed the mermaids picture in your portfolio for the first time - it's so cute! |

And I'm pleased to report I entered not one, but TWO NCW entries this week - one in Username (really, really stinks - I owe the user a huge apology at rollover) and one in Elements. I've entered Religion with what I forecast to be a very solid 5.5, and am in Free Study with a "going for comments and maybe a fav" picture. And give me a moment or two and I'll post a pet picture. Mine aren't new, or even improved, but what the heck.... |

Yep. Not challenge worthy, or nothing challenge worthy. Seems to be my speciality. My poor DPL team is subjected to pathetic attempt after attempt as I try to find something, anything that may be worthy of entering... 'til they finally throw their hands up in despair and say "Oh go with that! It'll do fine!". Like for instance my two current entries. I kinda feel sorry for them (my teammates and my entries). I'm thinkin' I'll probably be voted off the island soon, which worries me because I don't swim all that well.... :-)

In which case, I think I need to change my user name to "NCW" instead of Kashi.

Hey, hey, hey... I venture over here to the Beachhouse and I read this!? Deb, don't worry. No danger of voting you off the island. Remember, the team's charter is to learn. You should have seen my DPL album cover that I pulled. Now that one was NCW! |

Goodness dear, I don't know what's up with the sudden surge of negativity - your shots are awesome! I wish mine were as good. So stop thine winging :p |

Deb, no chance of you getting "voted off the island." Our team doesn't vote people off the island - and if we did, well, a) I wouldn't be on it, and b) you wouldn't get voted off, anyway. So there! And I suspect I'll be one of those who adds your FS entry as a fave.
Ahem, Kashi, NCW? Aren't you the one whose beautiful photo of baby in bucket just won a finalist prize over at BetterPhoto.com?
Ahem, quiet_observation Mary, aren't you the one who just won a prestigious prize in annual Philly competition?
Edit for grammar

Note - tongue firmly in cheek in my last post. Note smiley at the end. :)
And as promised, cat picture!
There was a bright yellow tit (yes, that's what they're called) flying in the backyard, who would come to the window and hover like a hummingbird for a few seconds. He was repeating this activity over and over. My theory is he was checkin' out his reflection to make sure he looked good for the ladies. At any rate, the cats were hunkered down so he wouldn't see them, and making those clicking sounds cats make when they watch birds. They rarely sit this close to each other without fur flying, literally, so I figured it an opportune photo op.

And hey guys, meet Steve. Cool dude. :-) We don't bite. In fact, we're really kind of a fun crowd here. Lots of DPLs and indies represented. |

Deb I find it hard to believe they would want to vote you off to an island unless it was to enjoy a few days of shooting beautiful islands scenes with you. After that awesome Desat you entered i am sure they are happy to have you on there team.

Thank you kindly! I kinda liked that one, too.
And we definitely have to keep Catherine on both Team Suck and the DPL team - she's our star performer! :-) |

Deb I was my team mates first introduction to Team suck, poor things, it's different out there in Scores Matter land, I invited to out beach house for a drink but they're very busy taking awesome high scoring photos, while I hang out here with an exotic drink with umbrellas in it.
Heh well I wish, I'm actually taking a tiny sanity break from an oh-so-boring technical assignment, I mean really, who cares how the photo was taken as long as it turned out kind of OK. |

Hey Team Suckers...just thought I'd update ya'all. I have been lurking, just not saying much, lately.
But now I actually have something to say. In one weeks time I have gone from the walker to a crutch to a cane!!!! Of course, when walking I look like a drunken sailor ... but it's actually on both feet now!!
Do you think I could do an entry with a wheelchair, crutches, several braces, a cane. a walker, etc. in a huge bonfire? My husband says I can't do that. Hmmmmmmmm.

Deb likes to claim she can't take a decent shot. Never mind she had the 3rd highest score out of 7 team members in selective desat. :P
And since our team charter is to learn and help each other, regardless of score, I think we'd dissolve before booting her.
Hmm. Sounds like we're a Team Suck annex. :)
Now on to positive things. I'm proud to say I own a genuine Deb Fort: Ode to Joy. :) First thing I've ever bought off DPC Prints!
