LOL, same here! Pity about the director, Adrienne Shelley.

btw just finished Children of Men this afternoon - first time in a long time I've seen a current movie I can rave about. Very good film, smart script, great imagery, astonishing action scenes, uber-believable acting, rave, rave, rave. ;)

Maybe it's the eating part that's easy about pie.

Selective Desat results are up in the Challenge Results Thread! I'll get some of my FAnime convention pictures up when I get back to Illinois.

I wanted to show the original of my selective desaturation, as some of the comments I received made it seem like they had never seen a violin in another color. I am very proud of where I ended up. It's all because of you guys and your support.

I'd love it if I could get some thoughts on this.....

I thought it was okay, but obviously I was mistaken.

Bobbie - am VERY impressed with your abstracts. Just added one to faves. Abstract is so difficult, and you pulled it off beautifully.

Edit to add: Jeb, I think this photo is quite lovely. I left a comment for you.

For Don, who dissed me, I've posted the original of my desat with the challenge entry. It does work well in full color, I'll grant you that. Catherine, thanks for the nice words. If it resonated with more people (instead of just a few) it would score better, huh? :-) I'm happy with it. Represented a lot of work and a lot of learning, so it's all good. Jeb, I already left you a comment. In fact, all suckers should have comments on desat. If I've missed you, let me know.

The more you try to be creative, the more you get hurt with the results...creative photography is a big part of me, yet it seems many prefer the mundane type of photo which to me is not moving forward in this field, but I am not changing my way of seeing this art form...

So many nice comments on my grasshopper photo. I want to give a big group thank you to TS. The comments mean a lot to me.

A huge thanks for all the comments on my abstracts, I really really appreciate it. I've sent them to my lecturer for approval before I print because I just have no idea what he likes, but I'm encouraged that you guys like them :D

Yeah.....ditto that from me, what a lovely shot!

I have been having time-out issues with my dialup and it makes me twitch 'cause it's so hard to participate here with such slow service.

I'm getting so tired of it.

I occasionally get a chance to get on at work, but they glare at me when they see me on line.....

So my humblest apologies for not spending more time commenting and just participating in general.

I'm not home all the time the way I was before the job so I just don't have the time any more.....sigh.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments......I feel much better. I really did think it was a mid-5 kinda shot, nothing spectacular, but solid.

Go figure.....8>)

What a sweet face! How can you resist it. But how did it happen that you had a new family member when you returned from a one week trip?

We had to put our old Lab down last month and i told my daughter she could get another dog as long as it was house broke ( i dont have time to train a puppy, I dont care what kids say dad is the one who gets to cleanup after them) She could get another when she was ready. And everyone had said the lab was too big so i am thinking something smaller than a Lab, boy was i wrong. So she drug the wife to the local animal shelter and found this lovely beast. She seems like she is going to fit in very well, she is very laid back and lazy. I have a feeling she and I are going to bond quit well she has laid at my feet all evening while i been working on photos.

:) I'd be scared to come back home and find a dog that big. But she does seem very sweet. Aww, just look at those sad eyes...

My dog used to love to ride in the car. He'd sit in the passenger seat and generally watch out the front or the side. But if we came to a light and I stopped, he'd look over at the driver next to us, then calmly look back at me for a second or two, like he was telling me something, then turn and look at the driver again and stare. It was hilarious. I still miss the guy, and it's been over 10 years now since he died. They steal your hearts, don't they?

Jeb, thank you - what a nice comment. And thanks to everyone else who commented on desat entry as well!

Griz210 your new doggie is adorable!

Enjoy the new dog, Griz! I'm glad to hear she didn't growl at you when you arrived. One time when I came home from college, my mom's friend was over and HER dog growled at me. I just told it in a stern voice that this was MY home. She was a Doberman, so I'm glad she listened. :)

Deb, I was at my in-laws' last night for my mother-in-law's birthday, and she got a card that could have been shot by you. I'll post a picture of it later.
