Oh yeah, thats right up there with all Blacks have rhythm, all Jews are cheap and all Mexicans are lazy. Put em in a box, slap on a label. Heck, it saves a lot of time and energy. They're already labeled so why spend the time to get to know who they are.. |

Uh...
I think it was a response to bamaster's post.
This is such a joke of an idea that it need not be discussed. Thus we make fun of it.

Lighten up a bit! Stereotypes exist because there are traits which perpetuate them - I know plenty of examples from those on your list who would readily back this up, drama-queen gays included! ;)

Heh. I'm somehow not surprised that CNN and FOX's audiences differ a bit in thier opinions.

LOL, true dat.
You could substitute the poll question for "Are you a liberal?" and it would show the same results.

Show me a person who really enjoyed high school and I'll show you a liar. There might be exceptions, but the idea that only one group of kids gets harassed is just ridiculous. I was a geek (and a dork) in high school and I didn't have a great time at all. I quickly learned that it's not a great idea to announce that you like to play the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game to too many people, and I didn't get my own school. Sexuality wasn't a priority in my identity as a high school kid, and I don't feel too much sympathy for a 17-year old who can't express his/her sexuality in a scholastic setting. Everyone's different. Kids at the gay school will be mean to each other for different reasons (Johnny over there is not gay enough! He doesn't even like Bette Midler fer Chrissakes!) as kids are kids and part of being an adolescent is running the gauntlet of finding out who you really are, what makes you the same as other people and what makes you different. You need some friction or you're not going to come out the other side with your own identity.
And where's the school for maladjusted dweebs?

Just a quick thought, how is the school going to manage the lockerroom situation?

That comment is obnoxious and innacurately suggestive, and I hope you are aware of that fact.

Absolutely!!! This is the best idea... Move the hate mongers to the special school and leave the gays, geeks, goths and every other group that begins with G and they will all get along just fine!!!!
Edit : I'd even support paying for this school with taxes...

100% agreement... I've read and reread the US Constitution to see where this "Two Party System" came from to begin with... I'm firmly opposed to these power mongers spending my tax dollars to keep the power the Consitution says belongs to us (people).

Hurdling certain groups of people in government institutions, such as schools,is very dangerous beginning of a TREND! (don't forget to vote 10 on my photo)1
I wonder what is going to be the dress code there(Gay High)!
Wouldn't surprise me if the next step is labeling those people (Star of david)
Is it history repeating?
I really don't like the idea!

Actually the Nazis used a pink triangle for gays, which many gays in the US have adopted as a 'badge of honor'...
But you do bring up an interesting point I hadn't considered... Could having a school that a gay teenager CAN attend be a first step to having a school a gay teenager MUST attend? Scary thought...

Someone mentioned an "all bully" school. We already have that. When you get kicked out of the high school here, you have to go to our 'alternative ed' school. Which is made up of all the people who got in trouble bad enough to have been kicked out. So that already does exist in a 'non official' kind of way. |

Who cares if there's a "gay school" for them, as long as they don't get any special treatment as far as grades go or entry into college goes, and as long as the school doesn't get any extra funding (above normal), special privilages, etc.
