Where do I save these when I dowload them??? I have CS2 and haven't downloaded a texture yet.. Is is the same as dowloading an action?? Will I have to load them into CS2 once I get them in the correct folder???

They are images. Put them wherever you like.

This may seem like a silly question but how do you use a texture?

Usually as overlay, softlight or multiply layers.

Maybe a great idea for a subject in PS 101 or maybe a tutorial.

It involves adding these images as a layer, then changing the layer type from normal to what fotoman_forever said. Then you can play with the layer's Opacity.

Is this kind of thing allowed in a Free Study?

No...you can only use one image in a Free Study unless it is under Expert Editing rules.

Okay so I thought I knew how to do this but I guess it's something I don't. Some one teach me real fast how to apply a .jpg image (texture) to an an image.

open both the images. select the move tool. click on the texture. press shift, then drag the texture image into the picture's frame. tadah! now play with the blending mode (overlay, or any in that section) and the opacity. easy peasy.

If you want to make a texture overlay, for grunge, just make sure to include the texture in your original shot for it to be allowable in advanced. Sample the section of concrete or whatever, make it into a new layer, and then change it to overlay, hard/soft light and mask off the portions over the model (or as much as you don't want.
