Probably because it is a most interesting shot that has a totally vintage feel to it. I myself love that photo.

I found four quiet_observations that I need to write stories for.

Just as marvelous as I thought they would be. All -- color and B&W -- terrific. If you could hook up with some interior decorators/designers, especially one who does commercial spaces (hotels or office buildings), you could give them whatever colors they wanted. They would love your Argave photos too.

I figured some kind of "off the track" kinda thing would have done it, but I just couldn't get a catchy idea.

Someone did skewsme and there's 2 quiet_observtions...I have to dmit I wnted to do posthumous but couldn't figure out what to do...sorry, the letter a is optional on the bf's computer...
05/23/2007 02:29:22 PM · #387
I was gonna do posthumous, but thought someone else would anyway. Plus I couldn't think of an artsy, obscure enough idea...

I disbelieve! I thought about posthumous too, but tried to come up with a "post-humerous" idea and failed miserably. Purple butterfly costumes were also impossible to find.

I tried to recreate the MOMA posthumous show of Cartier-Bresson near the end of World War II but failed. Just as well-he really wasn't dead.

Does anyone have any useful links/references/advice on portrait lighting? I've been trying to do some portrait shots recently, and they're very fun to do, but my lighting is rubbish.

Ooh, that looks pretty good. I'll observe quietly from afar...

And yay, both my challenge entries are now very slightly above 5. My prayers have been answered :) (hmm, I wonder if the idea I'm gonna go with for the Religion challenge did anything to sway the gods in my favour...)
05/23/2007 03:38:53 PM · #394
The average of my two challenge entries is over 5.. does that count?
05/23/2007 05:07:00 PM · #395
Well, I don't have an embarrassing story, but I did find a photo of formerlee

This was taken at Police Training College in 1977 at the Christmas Show when the recruits had to put on a show. Each class chose a topic and Steve's class did a beauty show.

Here is Steve as Miss Essex:. Hope this is enough!!

wow.

*posing as a typical DPC commenter* Funny subject, but you might want to crop out the top to leave out the distracting diagonal. The lighting is too harsh and is the reason why you have such a shadow. Tsk. You'd be better off leaving out the wristwatch next time - too distracting. The pattern on the bathing suit is a bit busy too - might have been better off with a solid color. Love the lipstick, but the eye shadow is too much. 5

:) Welcome to Team Suck!

Ok, I've now managed a solid 3 and a half hours of procrastination... It's 11pm UK time, I have a presentation to do tomorrow morning, and for mysterious reasons of student psychology, I'm having trouble getting myself to even so much as glance at it. *agh* must... finish... *gives up and presses the 'update' button on DPC again*

On the bright side, it's the very last piece of my undergrad degree, there's just this presentation between me and freedom... Tomorrow night I shall take pictures of fire to celebrate :)
