Looks like the blogger is just writing about the pix, and giving the photographer credit?
05/16/2007 08:12:02 AM · #3
Yes, there's a credit given there. I think this falls under fair use.

oh my...
i'm getting tired of this stealing photos at other website..

ggggggggrrrrrrrrr
why can't they just take their own photos?!
it would be far much respectful thing to do than stealing
other people photos..let's hunting them down.

well..if they mention
the name of the real photographers..then it's fine :D

There have been plenty of outside photographers referenced in DPC forums â€Â¦Ã‚ hasn't there?

I don't really think that is stealing.

The pictures are posted on the other site, they're not linked from DPC. AFIK, this is a copyright violation.

I don't think you have to link to them, you just have to name the copyright holder. Anyways, he's not saying he took the shots, and he's saying the name of the photog of every picture. If I could read it, I imagine he's giving some editorial comment on a few of them. The purpose of the site is not to claim ownership of the images, rather it is to point out those who have made amazing images. Even if you wanted to claim it's not quite legal, who doesn't like free publicity?

Hotlinking in the opinion of most webmasters is worse than copying images to one's own host. Stealing bandwidth is frowned upon.

I think the intent of the author of the blog is honorable. He makes no claims that they are his. So, I think he's well within fair use, especially if he's making editorial coments.

I don't understand the language, but it does look like he is crediting the photographer. Hell, I WISH he had one of mine on his site, as there are same GREAT photos!

credit was given to each photo. and the person merely commented on them and sharing them. i dont see a problem with this at all. are we being over-anal about our photographs? a photo is created for viewing.

lol - my stuff is never good enough for anyone to steal. But seriously - this does not seem like a theft issue this time.

Still it is considered 'good manners' to ask someone before using their work. My Italian/Spanish is not good enough to work out what the 'blogger' was actually saying but forsure they are giving credit but I still think the person should have the manners to at least contact the photographer and ask if it is ok to use their work... is that being too 'anal'?

Sorry I forgot to put the NSFW tag
