Hey all,

I've started work for the summer, which means I'm out in the field and away from my desktop. Which means, I'm working off my laptop and its suspect monitor. Now, I think I have a pretty good idea of its characteristics, but I dont have a calibrator for it so I'm basically working blind here.

What I'm asking is for some feedback on some of the shots I've taken so far, to give me an idea of how I'm working with my laptop monitor. I'm obviously not doing any critical work, but the DPL season is starting shortly and I'd like to know I have a handle on my processing before that starts...

SO, heres some shots, please let me know if the exposure looks over/under, if theyre too dull/saturated, etc. Thanks!

Only editing is RAW conversion in Lightroom.

these look really good to me. I think my monitor is fine. What I did for mine is to go through past ribbon winning shots. I figured those shots placed high looking how they did, then if they looked good on my monitor I should be good.

hey option,

okay, so here goes:
Shot #1 looks somewhat dull compared with shot #2.
Shot #2 looks bang-on. Both the blue & the background look punchy, with good tones & sat.
Shot #3 also looks good.
Shot #4 has some very slight blow-outs (on one of my 3 monitors)

Shot #5 looks awesome - great detail and perfect contrast.
Shot #6 has the same very slight loss-of-detail in the circled areas

Hope this helps!

bump
(for some other opinions... I'd hate for you to just go based on my monitors) ;O)
