I'm posting this thread for a friend of mine, Avery Bloom, who has recently set out on an incredible journey. Yes, as you may have guessed, he is on his way to California on a moped. With a top speed of 20-30 it will be quite a long and interesting trip. He's somewhere in Michigan right now. He has managed to obtain a moped for free from the man in return for publicity that he generates. There are links to his website all over the internet. It's a great little site he's created, with a map that follows his route and photos and diary entries. The more hits he gets on his site, the better his fortune and possibility that his journals may one day be published in print form. Please take the time to follow him on his journey and if he's coming to your area look for him and give him a friendly wave as you pass him on the road.

| I tried sending him an email. I don't know if he'll get it but I'm sure he's having a remarkable experience. I just got done reading all of his diary entries and it's amazing the situations he's found himself in already. I'm just waiting for him to get to the mountains out west! :) |

| You say he gets a moped for doing the trip? I hope it's not the one he rode, it will be about used up. |

| lol. yeah, it's the one he's riding. it's already caused him a good deal of trouble too, breaking down and such... still, it's nice that they gave it to him. |

On the 18th, he was here in Kalamazoo, but I didn't see him. :( Would have taken some pics. lol. Good luck to him!

| OH GOSH! I just tried looking through his photos, and I had to quit. *shudders* The guy can't level a horizon to save his life. LOL!! My ultimate pet peeve, if you can't tell. :) |

| I think that its amazing to just go cross country on nothing but a moped, its seriously the best thing I have ever heard. He has such freedom............and time. |

At least when he hits the rockies he won't have to worry about level horizons anymore.
