Nah!

If you've been here a while, you've seen me shoot myself in the foot and get told about it.

The nice thing here is that the friends are real.....they know all about you, love you anyway, but won't cosign your sh*t when you're being a knucklehead.

I know this personally, and it's definitely okay......8>)

wow, so much has gone by since i wrote - so -congratulations to those who deserve them, commiserations with those who need them, that is one funky kitty, and slaps with wet noodles for those who need them.

New Lens! cheap and cheerful canon 50mm. - $130, plastic body. but fun. defintiely close up only - the long distance ones i shot today were not great.

Shameless plug to stop by and give me a thumbs-up on JPG Mag if you think the photo is worthy. It's my ladybug and bubbles photo from recent challenge. Category is Dreamscapes.

New Thoughts on the DPL

or...

Crazy Half-Assed Last Minute Plan of Genius!

Okay, this is NOT an official Team Suck activity, but I think it's in the spirit of Team Suck as I understand it. skewsme and I are going to try to start Team Spleen at DPL. The thinking is this: DPL is part of DPC now. Not joining it is kinda like not participating fully in the site. So we thought we'd start a team with an explicit mission of not caring about the scores, a mission of shooting what we want, what we love, and scores be damned, but don't exclude us for that!

Teams are too small for us to invite everybody, but we could form several teams, if this crazy notion appeals to anyone else.

oh good luck to you guys! Wish I could join you but I am already on a team. I always wanted to have one called "Team Abstract" - so if this takes off, maybe I can start one for the next season.

I don't mind being on a team, I just don't want to have the pressure of trying to score well.

Count me in with the same attitude as jaysonmc

I purposely didn't join a DPL team because I didn't want the pressure of having to always take DPC-friendly photos and try to score well. I'd LOVE to be part of a Team Suck effort to participate on DPL, though. I might even throw a good score our way every now and again. But it sure as hell won't be with my upcoming Cultural Events entry :-)

Can I please request that Team Suck DPL stuff be completely separate in a thread of its own and not talked about here?

I'm not against the idea of having a team suck DPL team BUT I just personally really do not want any part of it.

Catherine, I gave you a big "Yeah" over at wherever that was. I really love that picture.

Kelly, I have a suggestion with respect to the DPL - form a team of the Under 5'ers. Why? Heresy, you say? Not really. New environment for DPC - the age of suggestion and collaboration is upon us. I have a lot of thoughts on this matter but not a lot of time at the moment (will have to get my butt out the door and head to work shortly) but here's the benefit as I see it: teams have a private forum for discussion, and can see and discuss each other's potential entries prior to a challenge. You can help select shots and make processing SUGGESTIONS. You can't help process (or at least that's how I read the rules). You can't vote on your teammates entries. It has the potential to be an exceptional learning tool. More than one team that has formed has publicly stated that scores will be irrelevant (much to the consternation of those teams who WANT to compete, though for the life of me I can't figure out why this would bother them).

Anyway, it's a thought. I was approached yesterday by someone with this in mind and I'm considering it seriously. The point being to help when asked and provide critical comments afterwards - much like Team Suck but on a smaller (5-7 people) scale. And NO, I don't plan to leave here if I do that. Not a chance.

David, on the top menu bar, see the new option called "League" between Commmunity and Photos.

Results for Pi, Symmetry, and the weekly scores are in the Challenge Results Thread (or CRT, for you people with fancy LCD screens..)

Deb, that's an awesome idea but I really can't do it. I can barely keep up with the things I am interested in currently, much less form a DPL team. :-)

edit: oh or if *I* wasn't the one to form it, then I would consider joining that team...

Perhaps suggest it in the Under 5 thread and let someone else take the lead. :-)

Done! Copy-pasted, hope you don't mind.
