I rented a house a few years ago with a couple friends and we had DSL. The house had a bathroom exhaust fan that would automatically turn on every 4-5 hours. Whenever it turned on my DSL would hang. All my gamer friends knew when my character stopped moving it was my fan and would tease me when my DSL caught back up. It was very strange and no one could ever figure it out.
I had a similar situation when I was a kid. Every time the phone rang while I was in the bathtub I got shocked. Turned out the phone lines were wrapped around the tub pipes. Glad dad finally stopped laughing at me, took me seriously, and figured that one out. |

HA! I'm so sorry to laugh at your misery, but that's funny. |

It only took me a few jolts to make the connection to the phone ringing. Dad and I went marching down into the basement with me in my towel. When dad saw the phone line wrapped around the pipe he just started laughing. My parents and I have laughed about it ever since. It was one of those great moments where as a kid you get to prove your parents wrong. Mom thought I was nuts! |
