In honour of all the reality tv series like Canadian Idol, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars etc I am starting an idol for our feathered friends.
The only requirement is that the bird must look like they are sing their heart out. Post your shots that meet this criteria.
Here's contestant number one:
Blackie, a bird from the west coast who shows off his colours to the two legged visitors at the Reiffel Bird Sanctuary in Ladner, B.C.

This is the Northern Flicker:
He's a real prima donna, in spite of being a male. Even closes his eyes when he sings his distinctive "yuk, yuk, yuk" call in the Ponderosa Pine forest. |
