Yikes, just found this thread, I've been looking for it for a bit. I havn't had a chance to read this yet, hope this isn't mentioned, but one way to approach this may be along the lines of teh editing rules. So for an example, we could take a picture and do it according to Basic, Advanced and the Expert.
Just a suggestion, looking forward to learning from all.
Jack

Not sure how much I'll be able to participate, but here's my info:
skill level: beginner (I can use auto-levels, and other simple things)
version: CS2
I'd like to learn how to make better use of this tool I have to augment my own developing (!) photography skills.

I was going to post the workshop thread last night but DPC was inaccessible most of the night. Now the work gods have conspired against me and I am buried in projects, but I plan to get the initial thread and topic posted tonight and will rely on the other mentors to moderate the discussion for a little.
Please be patient with me - my stress level is reaching critical mass lately.
Back later this evening.

Dont worry Ken while we are keen to get started, we all Im sure understand that you are doing this on a voluntary basis and your work and family comes first.
Dont let this group add more stress and post when you are ready :) |

So here is what I am planning:
- Two topics per week
- Initial lesson and assignment posted in each of the 4 threads
- One thread per group per topic/lesson
- The 5 mentors will switch off moderating the groups and I will post the assigned moderator in the subject of the thread along with the group
- Any of the mentors are welcome to respond to any thread (like if you see a question left unanswered, feel free to jump in). Both mentors and students are welcome to comment on any of the assignment images, but keep the forum discussions within the group (again, does not apply to mentors).
- I will try to have the threads locked as they are completed so as not to clutter up the forums.
This will be VERY fast paced and relatively informal, but if you miss an assignment and still want feedback on a subject that is past, save it for the end and we can have an open forum for the survivors to discuss these and other issues.
With that, I will be leaving shortly to write up the first lesson topic. I will post the group links here. It will likely be a couple hours from now when I do that. |

...still working on the first topic. It's coming along but I am drifting in and out of consciousness so will have to finish and post tomorrow.
Be patient - I am trying to put some quality and effort into this. Feel free to fill up on donuts and muffins in the back of the room.
