This is going to be the highest scoring challenge ever, dont think for a moment anything below 8 is gonna ribbon.. I think we could see some site records here this time.. amazing work in there.. well done all!!!!
05/01/2007 09:21:19 AM · #2
There would have to be with 574 entries!!! Is that some kind of record in itself??? I haven't looked yet...I'm planning on voting this afternoon, when I won't be bothered.

Someone said it was a best of 2005 challenge with over 800.
05/01/2007 09:22:58 AM · #4
OMG...800!!! That would be like a 4-session voting period for me!!

The thumbnails look great i cannot view full size because of the ban... I think its a bit unreasonable to not allow me to see the full size image... i'm banned from entering/voting/commenting/viewing...

I hope its a glitch in the system otherwise it seems a bit heavy not being able to even look at the work.. PFFFT.

Agreed Mak that would be a pretty harsh ban. Any way the pics are incredible this time around. Really seeing some impressive pics here. I agree that it may be the highest scoring challenge.

Don't login and you should be able to look at all of the entries full size.

Oh brother!!! A little salt in the wound, eh? Doesn't seem necessary.

The quality of the images are indeed super. This is one mega-entered challenge that is fun to vote on. I'm totally digging it. I say "expert editing" from here on out.

No!!!!! Down with Expert Editing!!

Did I mention I'm getting a 3.6000 with my frustrating Expert Editing shot? I am.. and I love it, because it says what I think about Expert Editing for Freestudy. I don't wait a month to enter my best photo only to have someone with better Photoshop skills than me kick my ass. Advanced I can handle, but you can do anything in Expert.

gimme a break...
i'm not going to pursue it any further than to say that if the punishment for violating the rules is so lax it doesn't affect the violators enjoyment of the service provided what's the point in having rules to begin with?

equate it to grounding your kid for three weeks, but then lifting the punsihment after 24hours. pretty pointless in the long run, no?

Just think it's been hashed enough. I don't see any need to be the moral police. Ok, I won't say anything else.

Let's all hold hands and sing "Kumbaya" lol

MAK, I think it is some kind of bug that Langdon is working on. If you click on the little comment icon, you can see the full-size version (and leave a comment if you wish).

Soup -- His punishment is to not be able to enter and vote, nothing more. He should still be able to see the images, and comment if he wants. Your analogy, in order to fit here, would be like saying he was grounded from the Play Station, but he is allowed to watch TV; however, because the PS is hooked to the TV, he can't watch the TV, either, even though that is not part of his punishment.

Which means, you have more rope which to hang yourself.

Edit to make sure it is understood that you is generic you, not personal you.

I agree there... I dislike the super "photoshoppy" ones; it's a matter of taste, I guess, but there it is. There are some nice shots rendered very cluttered with PS.

That said, I completely agree that the more restricive editing challenges are better as a norm.

And I think my score is suffering because the voters think it is a composite, when it isn't. Feeling like I should have used a title like "basic editing". LOL, live and learn.

Here, here. I've seen a couple and said, "What the hell did you do?" Just because you have all the tools doesn't mean you must USE all the tools.

then i retract my comments, and apologize to MAK. i took it as complaining about the punishment, and didn't realize what the punishment actually entailed/././.

i'm a pretty chill dude for the most part ;}

Totally accepted dude, thank you very much... I have a wonky sense of humour

Agreed. This is a digital PHOTOGRAPHY contest, not a graphic design contest. Just because you can, doesn't mean that you should

Sorry, but if you are getting a 3.6 in any challenge it wouldn't matter if you invented Photoshop as nothing is going to help that image.
