This is one amazing shot taken by NikonJeb:

I offered to edit it to bring the girls out of the shadows...

Thought it looked good in B/W also...

One of the hair entries (by OmanOtter) that I loved a lot, but thought it could do with a bit of enhancing and Sean was kind enough to allow me...

In some of these, I like the originals better than the edits.

Take one car with an ugly background:

Add a plausible background:

And voila!

Before:

After:

Most of the work here was done automatically for me with Photomatix. Very little was done with photoshop editing after the fact.

Cool shot!
I think I actually like the foreground better in the original. I'd love to see the sky, horizon and distant buttes (plateaus) from the "After", blended with the foreground of the "Before".
But that's just me. :-)

A lot of people seem to think I rely on Photoshopping my images. So for a change I am going to show two images that were taken handheld in low light with no flash. Neither of them were posed by me as they were part of a performance.

Please keep in mind that I shoot RAW...so these originals are resize only, no RAW programme adjustments, just save as JPEG...absolutely no other editing..not even sharpening has been applied.

Yeah, this was done last year. I really feel like I went overboard on it. (and that, in many cases, my earlier shots were a bit "heavy handed" on the processing). I'm much more refined today and it would look very different if I did it all over again.

As you can see, it was nearly straight out of the camera - uh huh - right.

There are quite a few before & afters in here, including sub-folders with tutorials.
Most have a link to a thread where it was used, along with the name and link of the original photo and it's author:
