I dropped it on the sidewalk running inside.
=(
My brother smacked me a good one too..
It doesn't LOOK damaged, just a scratch on the edge.
But it isn't functioning in the least.
It's not turning on or making any noise.
I'm scared.
What can I do?

Er.
*Going to bed*
Nevermind I guess..
I'll figure something out.

not turning on? I assume you double checked the batteries and the compartment door? I've seen them break so it doesn't make good contact anymore. Other than that...ouch! At lest you have the Oly to fall back on.

Sorry to hear about that, never a good thing when a camera returns to it's maker.

btw...what is that now 6 cameras broken? wow

Three cameras broken and one camera with a damaged integrated lense.
I'm not even going to bother getting the powershot or FE-170 fixed.. They never contributed to much anyways.
I REALLY like my sony though.
=/
I hope it's repairable.
It fell on the other side though so I don't think there's anything wrong with battery connection.
I don't know what's wrong with it.
My brother is VERY mad at me..
>.<

Oh... bummer, bummer, bummer... you got the Sony DSLR-A100K. That is horrible.

Do whatever you can to get it fixed.

It's going to take a while, probably.
I live in the sticks.
It's atleast a hundred miles to the cities.
I still haven't told my mom, but I'm sure my brother will..
I wish I knew what was wrong with the thing..

Beautiful Joe.
I love the way you type.
Short to the point stucatto sentances.
Always make me laugh.
Nice one.

I think it's more of a chatter style to writing. People who chat online a lot tend to have short sentences and in extreme cases can't avoid control themselves and hit enter even outside of the chat environment.

If it wasn't Beautiful-Joe it might annoy me, but I kinda like the kid.

=)

Actually..
I do chat online.
I'm one of those annoying myspace kids. =P
I just like typing this way.
I don't really know why..

Call camera stores.
See if they can help.
If not, call Sony to get fixed.
Once fixed..
Get camera strap or attach the one that came with camera.
When handling camera put strap around neck.
Good luck.

Not to rub it in, but let me quote your profile: Stylus cameras are fantastic cameras for clumsy kids like me. :D

I've dropped two cameras in my life. One (my old Olympus) broke permanently. I was standing in a parking lot. I thought the strap was around my neck and after taking a photo I just let go of the camera! I don't do that anymore.

The other camera fell out of my camera bag which I had neglected to zip -- I was getting out of the car and dropped my camera. It didn't get damaged beyond a surface ding.

But boy, did I beat myself up. Hang in there and realize we all make mistakes. Sometimes expensive ones.

Heh. I had attatched the the neckstrap but taken it off again because it felt uncomfortable to me. I never use neck straps.
I guess I'd better start..

Notice how that stylus is my default camera.
The usage of the sony and the rebel is very rare.
Mainly because I'm scared I'll wreck it.
I just got sick of letting the sony sit around while I could be taking pictures.
I used it, but now I wish I hadn't moved it.

Whenever I am walking around with my camera I use the neck strap and still hold the camera (that way you dont have the weight around the back of your neck). I hate walking with it bouncing around against my body and by holding it you wont even notice the strap. There have been a few times when walking (and climbing) that the strap has saved my camera from being dropped.

You will get used to the strap.

Edit: Dyslexic spelling

I'll definitely be using it now, that's for sure..
If my camera is repairable.

I dropped my camera once, totalled a lens, cracked my flash, and my on-camera flash became stuck open.

Just before I was to shoot a wedding.

So when you tell your mom, just say "At least I didn't commit to shooting my sister-in-laws wedding!!" I'm sure that will make her feel better.

Youch. D=

I was going to take pictures of my little brother.
My mom forced him into a tux for my cousin's baptism and he was making grumpy yet adorable faces.
I was transporting the camera from the garage to the house and dropped it on the cement.
First time I dropped it too.
I can't believe I dropped it.
It was over a thousand bucks..

I drove a Nikon COOLPIX 8700 into the ground in Trier, Germany whilst vacationing after tripping over a jutting cobblestone because it was so securely wrapped in my hand and the strap around my wrist so it could not be stolen in a blink.

Worst day of my life having anything to do with photography.

Okay, did your parents get a warranty with the camera?
04/27/2007 09:29:11 PM · #23
I'm sure they did.
I don't know for certain.
Are those even worth anything anymore?

Depends on the terms, many of them last for three years anymore. Have you told them yet?

I hope that you just broke the battery. Batteries sometimes have a problem with being dropped, as they can break inside and you will not see it. Good luck, and I hope that it isn't too expensive to have it fixed.
