I came across a pretty good deal at B&H Photo on the SanDisk 8 Gig Extreme III CF card. $109.00. I just paid $130 for the 4 Gig version about a month ago so I had to order one. I should get it today.

Link to item.

What's strange is it's $20.00 cheaper than the 8 Gig Extreme II card.

Wow, that is a great price! I just looked at my receipt, and on 03/15 I paid $92 ea for two 4GB Extreme IIIs. :-P

Oh well, the 4GB size is better for me, but dayum, even that's dropped to $71. Typical poor timing on my part ;-)

I've been using Transcend cards now since someone in the forums recommended them (and i respect that person a lot)
I have found them fast and reliable!

Their 8gb card is $79.99

I know the feeling. I still didn't send in a rebate card for my 4Gig Extreme III, and worst of all, I didn't even come close to filling it.

At least I can now say I am done buying CF cards for a while. I have a 1Gig, a 2Gig, a 4Gig, and today I will have an 8Gig too.

It's out of stock :( and the rebate appears to be good only through the end of the month. Bummer

45x is in stock... not as fast, but it does have a picture of an iguana on it. i may get one as a backup (but then again, the prices will probably keep falling, so unless i can think of a big trip that i'm gonna take in the next 3-4 months where i need that much storage, it may be better for me to wait)

I totally hear you on that. I am, in fact, thinking about a huge trip...well, at least for me. My friend just invited me to go with her to South Africa so woohoo! :)

NewEgg sells four different models of high-speed 8Gb CF cards for less than $90. Check here to compare performance.

That's a full $100 less than I saw them selling for in my local store this afternoon.
