I dunno if you American peoples know but today was Anzac day here in Australia it is amazing how in such a small town everyone comes out for this day... The population is around 850 I think nearly everyone attented the service kinda makes you proud and stuff. Anyways I was playing official photographer so I was running around like a crazy woman the whole service, my hand was getting sore from holding the camera up!

Boggabri Pony Club layed a 2 wreaths and a small bag of oats for the Australian light horse team that served in the War, (My little sisters the tall one looking straight at the camera lol)
The schools all attended the Service
All the returned service men (From all different wars)

The laying of the Wreaths

The Last Post

A few Candids...

This man here is a 93 yr old War veteran the oldest one in Boggabri

Ok Im done now ^_^ I had a great day

Nah. It's cryptic enough to be interesting to *us* foreigners... ;-)

My grandfather was an ANZAC - from Ballarat - his two brothers were killed and he stayed in England after the war. I have all their papers and medals. He was wounded at Gallipoli and again at Passchendale. A few years ago there was a program called ANZAC with Paul Hogan and my father says that some of the incidents in it were very like stories his father told him.

I believe there is a tree planted in his honour in Ballarat. If anyone from this site is from round there I'd love a picture of it.

ANZAC day is roughly equivalent to Memorial Day in the US. It is the day soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) commenced landing on the beaches of Gallipoli.

Amy Love the cinema style bars you do on some photo's but im not sure if its more like a frame for you? When i saw it on the portraits its kinda weird for me. But i figure aybe its more of a frame for you or somthing.

Just curious.

Nice stuff, Amy. Thanks for sharing them.

Until I became a member of this site, I thought ANZAC was an insurance company represented by an annoying duck. ;-)
