Yesterday was our anniversary.
Don't tell hubby this, but in the middle of the afternoon yesterday someone asked me the date and a HUGE lightbulb came on.
It wasn't that I forgot what date our anniversary is, I just forgot what day YESTERDAY was!

So after work I dash to the store, get a card and a little something, and hand it to him when I get home. (We always go away for a weekend for our "gift" to each other.)

Lol, it was absolutely priceless! He started with a puzzled look, which soon morphed into sheepishness and an "oops". That's all he said, just "oops".

I burst out laughing. I mean, how can you be ticked with that?? He blushed for a good 10 minutes and the family had a great time razzing him alllllllll evening :D

So now I can hold it over his head FOREVER that he forgot our anniversary, as long as he doesn't find out that I ALMOST did!

I wouldnt let it bother me. She would probly attempt to make my life hell, ignore me not give me any yada yada.

Last girl i dated i forgot what the situation was but she was like your not getting any tonight... i got up put my jacket on and headed out the door. She asked where i was going "Your not getting any either and now that i dont have to please you im going out todo something i ACTUALLY want todo."

Didnt have any issues since. But thats just her 1 out of a 1,000 where a particular situation is reversed.

...SO BACK TO YOU, You say almost if i understand you didnt almost you did too.

Only way I could 'forget' our anniversary is a stroke or dementia. 9/11/1999 and our honeymoon was Hurricane Floyd in the Bahamas. ;)

Well, if I were he... I'd come up to you the next day and give you a card and express that I'd converted to orthodoxy or Judaism and how your calendar was off a day.

:P

Oh, what deceit! You forget and blame him for forgetting?

I have been married for 37 years, and what matters is knowing either person is still there for you. A card or flowers are a reminder, your marriage is worth more than these.

Just be happy about 26 years :)

No, no, I didn't forget that our anniversary is on April 18, I just thought that yesterday was only about the 15th, still giving me a few days!

Nah, he's only going to get teasing about it, nothing serious.
It really was funny!

Talking of memorable dates, we had loads of requests for weddings on the 7/7/7 this year.. I guess it makes it easier for the guys to remember.

But that means he'd be *two* days late. The day starts on the evening of the night before.

e.g. The 2nd begins at sundown on the 1st. The 3rd begins at sundown on the 2nd.

for alot of people the date holds religious meaning (lots of 7s in the Bible) and for some people it's a lucky thing (3 7s in slots is traditionally jackpot).

ps: MOM I'M TELLING. :p

I can't forget my anniversary, it's the day after the anniversary of me becoming a Christian. Wedding was on 16th April 2005.

Just for those who have a cool birthday, mine is the 9th of August 1976, or as we put it here, 9/8/76.

I invariably remember up to one week before and then it disappears out of my mind. It's on the day Mahatma Gandhi, Peanuts, Groucho Marx, and Annie Leibovitz were born...

LOL, cute story. Congrats on your long marriage!

Kudos to you for your good attitude.

Our wedding was so spontaneous and low-key that we both have a hard time remembering both the date and the year. We just had our third anniversary and had to pull out the wedding certificate (once again) to confirm the date. We don't make a big deal of it other than to take a camping trip and toast the sunset.

Hope you had a great one.
