No worries, Jeb. I have had asthma for as long as I can remember. Been in hospital with tubes and masks and O2 tents many many times. Hubby had exercise-induced asthma as a child as well.

So, at least mild asthma is something we're already well familiar with in this household. Didn't want to see any of the kids get it, but it could be SO much worse.

Boo was given a Ventolin rescue inhaler (blue) and an Advair inhaler to use daily (purple).

Our biggest issue is just adding in a new part to the routine with a child on the Autism spectrum. He thrives on schedules, on routine. This is different. To him, that means it's bad. Add on a face mask and it's scary too, but he isn't co-ordinated enough to use the inhaler without the spacing chamber.

The Fearless Leader has the Universe, the Cosmos and Infinity. I deal only with the Big Boss, not his minions! After all, there is the honour of Team Suck to uphold.

Err...Deb? I actually have trouble imagining you EVER being cranky. You are always so nice and gracious. You and Sandy P could get in a nice contest but you would try to have the other person win :-)

Oddly enough - I can see this. It would be a never-ending cycle of graciousness !

Catherine, you three would be playing Ring Around the Rosie in a 'nice' contest.

Julianne, you are pretty darn nice yourself.

You know, I quite like this idea of a 'nice contest' while we're on it. Sometimes I can't believe the mean stuff people will post on DPC threads. Team Suck tends to be a bastion of positive people and energy. Luckily those who enjoying flame-throwing don't seem too interested in our little corner of the world :-)

You guys are such a hoot!! And yes, I like our little corner of the world, too. One of the best parts of DPC in my opinion.

The daisy fields and peace-signs on the walls seem to keep the nasties at bay. I like it here - it's a happy place.

Heck - I usually keep DPC open all day long and check in whenever the littles give me a moment during the day.

This is the funniest thing I've read in quite some time. Simply because it's true. :)

Deb, on the subject of hot flashes:

Wow, you look either really sunburned or really urm, pissed off in that photo, Jeffrey! Yikes - hope the niacin doesn't have any other nasty side effects!

And we'll keep him too - he's pretty darn nice for a curmudgeon.

Ah, come on, Jeb, what would we do without you? You keep this place entertaining. And you're a teddy bear inside.

You also have a new guy trying to post challenge summaries, who got a few numbers mixed up. Team Entropy and Chasing Butterflies have correct images up in the Challenge Results thread. Thanks to quiet_observation for the correction.

I just got my new SDHC card, 4gigs!!! It's great. My camera doesn't even register how many pictures I can take on the screen, it will only read 999 but I figured I should be able to take 1380 pictures!! I love it. No more missing pictures (my 1 gig only holds 345 and I come home often to download them). Plus, in RAW I get like 380 pictures now. I had to download some firmware from Pentax to get it to recognize the high capacity card, but now it works great!

I'm psyched and doing the happy dance. (please someone show me how to make a happy dance icon)

Kashi, my prayers go out ot you. My son is autistic. He is doing so good now, but I remember how tough it was when he was young. No language until 7, no recognition of dangers, it was very scary. From the little I have heard from your posts it seems like you are doing great with him. Please let me know if you ever want to chat. Here's my son now:

04/11/2007 08:25:25 PM · #95
Oh WriteHeart - he's got dimples ! What a handsome young man you have there.

Boo's language was delayed, but not as severely as for a child with full autism. He spoke only single words until he was past 2, and only used 2-word combinations until close to 3. Now, at 4½, he never stops talking. Seldom makes sense, but never stops talking.

He does have the complete lack of danger sense though - and that is SO scary when we're out.

WriteHeart where were those photos taken? Looks like Minnesota or northern US? Looks like your son - Jon? - is having a blast with that crawdad :-)

Actually, the one with the little green guy was taken in Colorado Springs, CO. That was Jon's first geocache

The crawdad was caught at Eleven Mile Reservoir in CO. He was definitely having fun!

You guys are *NOT* helping my curmudgeon image AT ALL!!!

My Night shot, to my amusement, is doing okay at 5.8242.....I must say, having voted on some of the night shots, I have hi-speed at work, I am much happier with mine.

I was pretty sure I saw Jeffrey's........then I saw another I thought might be his, so who knows?

I have voted a pile of 'em, but only left one comment......on an incredible shot that just went right through me. I got the better part of a week to vote 'em all, and I'm gonna bump and comment after I vote all of 'em.

kashi& WriteHeart.....you guys are awesome with the kids!

It's so nice to see people who see the grace in everything we are, do, and have.......it's an awesome gift of clarity.

Yo have my deepest and humblest admiration.

Our Momentary Lapse of Sucking Award goes to silverfoxx.

And Gnarf is on my statistical favorites list. He can suck anything he likes.

I haven't heard anything from Mary. It sounds like she's still holding things together behind the scenes.
