Not sure if I can make it - I have a lot on my plate at present.
Won't know until the day if I can make it or not, so will keep an eye on the thread for details.

Oh man...I love those places. I used to visit them as a child....oh and Luna Park was a regular haunt for me. I think that was before the Ghost Train Fire. I used to have dinner in ChinaTown about once a month. And I remember being at The Rocks the day they were ripping up the cobblestones from the streets. They were made of wood and were over 100 years old. I managed to get some and took it home as a souvenier. They were throwing them to the dump LOL!! But it has since been lost in my many moves around Australia. I visited the Opera House a few times and even watched a couple of shows there.
Damn...you have brought back some memories. Even those boring trips across the bridge. I hated the fact I couldn't see over the edge. But I loved looking up and seeing the structure. But the traffic annoyed me.

Hi All,
Sorry I haven't replied sooner to this thread. I am a possibility for the weekend of 31st. The Sunday would probably be better for me at this stage.

Sorry Guys, I gotta bail. The Boss just told me that we are going down to Huskisson for that weekend.
I have a mate returning from 6 months in Iraq next month and together with at least one other (maybe more) we'll take a few days off and have a photo camp. Will post details as they come to hand.

Not 100% certain yet but I may be able to come along this time. Weekends GTGs are definitely better for me than weekdays.

Thanks ever so much, and I look forward to catching up with you anytime.
I still hope to make it on the 31st, if Peter treatment goes ok.
I will be there if I can, as you all rock IMO.....
ps..... I will be back later with a photo of our dear Roz, re our day out at Kings Cross.....

I plan to go to same early bird spot near the bridge as last time at 5AM Sunday 1/4/07 Standard time (Daylight saving finishes at 3AM and becomes 2AM on 25/3/07). Anyone up for it? We will meet up with the late arrivals wherever and whenever everyone decides. |

hey owen .. i wont be able to get there that early unfortunately ... should be able to get in by 10.30 or 11 ... i'm gonna go for the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro ... now i've just gotta decide how to get it cheaply and real fast ... coz now that i've decided i want it - i want it NOW !!!!!!!
me & shez had our own mini gtg on monday ... we had a blast ... i havent met someone as beautiful or inspirational in a long time, if ever ...
re this gtg ... it'd be great to go somewhere that parking was easy and abundant and if we wanted to move on somewhere else that would be easy too ... like leave some cars there and come back later ... there wont be heaps of us and probably two/three cars'd fit us all in??? ... this is just a suggestion as i'm considering some of us who might find it difficult to walk long distances ... and also being limited to only one location could be a pain ...
brett made some excellent suggestions on places too, but i'm thinking a few of them might involve too much walking??? ...
has anyone got any other ideas ... the sydney side offers great photographic opportunites re all the different scenes in haymarket and chinatown and rocks etc and the different sort of ppl you'd see there, whereas the easier places to park like the milsons point side may not be as interesting .. i dont know .. then there's always going out towards the eastern suburbs or the northern beaches or the southern beaches or the etc etc etc etc " ...
i dont really want to confuse the issue, but felt i should mention the walking thing and the parking etc ...
this is another version of my day with shez ...

Seems like you had a good day. I'm easy where we go but was thinking of waiting to see what challenge is going to see if somewhere might suit. Try this place for your lens. They were quick and communication was good. They do charge for credit card though. They were cheapest for my latest lens. |

hi all ..
i just spoke to brett and he reckons the rocks'd be the go .. that we'll be able to find lots to interest us, photographically, and that we'll be able to find parking nearby etc ...
he's planning to get there for the early shoot with owen at like 5am or something on sunday 1st april.. me & greg'll be getting there about 10.30 or 11am ...
shez ... i'll pick you up when i get to sydney if you like, unless you particularly want to do the early morning thing ...
really looking forward to this and it'd be good if we could find more ppl who'd be interested in coming to sydney or we'd go to them on another day .. like we could go to newcastle owen!! or i think i noticed someone from wollongong in the australian members thread .. aussie member's thread
it'd be great if we could gtg regularly ...
and how can we get those other members out of the woodwork??????

Hi Guys
Don't think I can make it this time. - A six year old's birthday party looks like taking priority.
I am going to head to the zoo just after the school holidays, so I will let you know when this happens if anybody is interested in coming along.
Enjoy your day everybody. Roz hope you can get that new lens in time and Owen I need to talk to you after you've had some time shooting with that new lens of yours.

Hi everyone, its looks like I will be able to make it, that is with Roz help.....
I still have to check something out, but as long as I home in the mid afternoon, I think I will be there with my wheelie and camera.....
I can't wait to see everyone and especially in the Rocks area as that is such a cool place to be.....
Peter is doing really well, and we are flying home to Queensland, on the Friday the 13th April.....
