ok ... this is weird.
i always use "save as" and then save the jpg images ... that way i get my full exif data included with the shot.
yesterday and today i noticed that my shots aren't saving with the exif data now. it's stripping the exif info off the shot, same as "save for web" ...
i've got no idea why it's doing this.
is there a way to turn this feature on and off in photoshop cs2?
it's not the new card (same issue with older images).
it's not the recent firmware upgrade (same issue with older images).
the only thing i can think of is that because i had to reinstall adobe bridge, and it reset some of my photoshop preferences, it might be affecting my save files.
any suggestion, short of reinstalling photoshop and bridge completely??

hey crayon ... that was the first thing i checked! :) thanks for the help though.
ok, i've done some troubleshooting, and it appears that my windows explorer may be the problem. when i right click an image->properties->summary->advanced, usually my exif is all there and visible ... but now it's not there.
i downloaded opanda iexif viewer and that software says my exif data is there ... but windows viewer says it's not.
so it seems to be saving my exif correctly ... but windows isn't showing it in the properties.
any ideas for this??

save for web in PS strips out all "unnessesary" information to help shrink the file size to a more web friendly format.. if you want to keep the exif information use the "save as" command ;)

I have the same issue. The exif data is indeed there (you can access it through Photoshop: File-> File info) ut not visible through file properties. I have no idea why this happens, but it is pretty annoying.

I thought that it could be related to the way d200 writes exif since both of us have the same camera, but now I just checked with one of my old files taken with d70, and it does the same thing. So it must be some new bug in windows explorer (surprize! :))
