If you're up to it you may want to read this book about the Spanish Flu, very detailed.

JP have you actually read that book? I must say it looks depressing, but so much of our history is! I know so many people even today die of Pneumonia & Influenza. It is really amazing just how fragile we can be against disease. Thanks for the link.

I listened to it (I've become a reading slacker since I've found Audible.com (thanks to  L2 for showing me the way!)).
Anyway, it is quite sobering and you will learn a lot about a lot of things you probably didn't know. The first part of the book is history of health science in the US (world-alert: the book is US-centric but does touch on overseas info), then gets into the nitty gritty.
Thorough would be an understatement when referring to the research done for this book. |
