I took this picture (My first RAW shot) of the side of the IMAX theater building in OSAKA. I used Lightroom (Interesting software that will take me a while to get used to) and played around with it. Overall, what do you think? Boring? Too much noise? Not enough substance?

it's a nice idea but for me there is just not enough going on. The sky also looks a little overexposed and i would have liked to have seen the shot taken from a perspective slightly further away so you could see more of the subject?
Just my pennies worth :o)

The building itself wasn't all that interesting. I just wanted to see what I could do with a shot like this. Not many comments on it...which I suppose kinda means it's not really worth a whole lot. I'll see if I can get some better shots.

The angle is interesting but if there was a way to include just building and no sky it would work much better, IMO.

I could've, but at the time thought some sky would make it look better.

best way to learn is to look at it and spend some time thinking about what you could do to improve it, and then go back out there with a fresh outlook on what you want to achieve and see how it goes second time around.

Is this abstract?

Webster's or some other generally accepted authority on the meaning of words is a good place to start.

I would say the image contains recognizable features which may not qualify as pure abstraction. Geometric shape would probably qualify but your context of blue sky/ may not.

Cool...I'll head back out that way sometime soon and get another shot.
