OK, it's not so little. In fact, it's a monster. I picked up a used Canon 180mm f/3.5L Macro over the weekend from B&H. Just got home from the UPS depot 30 minutes ago. Since lens purchases are not a common occurence in the Achoo household, I'm stoked!
This will give me something to do when I'm not shooting waterfalls or seascapes. I went with the 180mm for the working distance (bugs are scared of me for some reason) and the creamy, creamy bokeh.
I'm anxious to make sure it isn't a bad copy (after all, someone did return it for a reason), but the physical condition is minty fresh. I'll give my impressions as I get used to it. First impression...it's heavy. Second, that's a sweet manual focus ring (double width). Third...well I haven't gotten to third yet.

Oooo-la-la! She's sexxxy!
The 180/3.5 is better optically than the already great 100/2.8 Macro. I think you'll be very well satisfied. Congrats! |

wow, that is close. I wonder why they returned the lens? The picture looks great. Maybe they just didn't like it. |

it looks dreary today, but the overcast day may be good for some macro work. I may head out to search for these little guys.
I may be the only person in the world, but for some reason these little mushrooms really appeal to me. They are also a total technical challenge because they blow out so easily. I just have to go find some.
