Ya, I pulled a stupid on the tree entry... I did some brightness and contrast. I guess we need to learn to read more carefully ;)

Got my DQ and got it over with on my second image submitted. Wouldn't you know it has more than double the views of any other image in my portfolio, 1,190 LOL : )
Gotta pay attention to all the rules when submitting. I do now.
I say " Blonde is a state of mind, but how can it be?"

Never fear...There's more than one way to "tank" your photo! I decided to try out my new Pentax K10D on the Tree Challenge. (Feeling rather generous, I even let my wife help me to choose the photo to use.) IMHO I still think she chose well. What do you think?

Yet, the Title I chose seem to have "flushed" the photo "down the toilet" because apparently no one could understand why it was called, "Leaning on a Relative."

Therefore, I went back after the contest and editted the "back story" on the photo,...

"Interesting! The one time I lob a 'softball' at the environmentalists in the crowd & nobody 'gets' it. At least no comments proved that they did...
Leaning On a Relative points to the fact that the ladder in the photo is made of wood. The tree (also, wood) was a yet-living 'relative' to the once-living ladder/tree..."

P.S. Thank the LORD, I did catch the Minimal edit. Frankly, I was too tired right then to want to edit anythin anyway. :)

LOL!

Tonight my dad had a blonde moment too. Now at least I know where to get it. I was telling him he should look into Miami Ink...they are looking for customers for their upcoming season I guess...and I said to him... "Miami Ink is casting" and he goes...where is that? Florida? HAHAHA.

I had this DQ'd because when I cropped it I accidentally dragged the crop tool a couple of pixels outside of the image area, which added that tiny strip of dark pixels across the very top -- adding any kind of a border or "padding" was not allowed under the rules at the time.

Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, Langdon compounded the punishment by asking me to help out with this new "Site Council" thing he'd formed to help decide on DQing photos and such ...

Sorry Magen!!! I feel your pain. I had one DQ because I was out of town and couldn't get to my pictures when someone requested a validation and still don't know why it was requested. And then. . .the oh-so-painful one AFTER winning a yellow ribbon for unknowing editing no-no's. Sigh. Still hurts to talk about that one. . .sniffle sniffle. (Just kidding. I'm healed now)

Tha minimal editing. TOUGH! But they sure turned out some spectacular photos in that tree challenge.

I actually haven't Dq'd yet.. but I'm waiting for that stupid gene to hit me.. ****jinx me not**** I do things like that all the time..

Getting a Dq sounds horrible *wince*.. especially over something that's avoidable.. but it's a lesson well worth remembering.. Imagine winning a ribbon like SandyP and then getting dqed.. At least now you'll be very very careful
